I am worried that they are not going to show them in full-I have sent them today the following email and would ask that other`s do the same and send them an email ukcomms@eurosport.com Hello, thanks for showing the Swedish speedway league regular season since May. After tomorrow`s last round(week 14) the play-offs begin to decide who becomes champions. These are the dates -all at 6pm uk time Quarter-finals Tuesday 26th August 1st leg Tuesday 2nd September 2nd leg Semi-finals Tuesday 9th September 1st legs-both matches Tuesday 16th September 2nd leg match 1 Wednesday 17th September 2nd leg match 2 Final Tuesday 30th September 1st leg Wednesday 1st October 2nd leg Please could you let me know-if you are showing all these matches "live " or "delayed live" ie full programme same Evening. We will be showing the quarter-finals and semi-finals delayed but in full on the same day. The finals will be live. racers and royals Posted August 23, 2014 Author Report Share Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Beginning to look like Eurosport have gone back on their word and are not showing the QF`s -they could easily replace the 2 repeat programmes on British Eurosport from 9pm on Tuesday to get the QF shown-I have fired another email off to them-please can others do the same. This is the email I have just sent Hello again, as the schedule for next Tuesday has not changed-have you possibly gone back on your promise to show the QF`s on British Eurosport ? British Eurosport 2 next Tuesday from 9pm has 2 repeated programmes-Speedway could easily have been slotted in there. No they haven`t replied-shouldn`t think they will be showing QF`s at all-so the only way we can see them is via a stream of the C more Sweden programme. I have asked one major streamer if they will show it and will have to wait to see if them or another stream is available-somewhat ironically C more are showing both matches tomorrow and next Tuesday live-1 is on a secondary channel. Surely they could show it on Eurosport player? Not if they don`t want to pay for the link-as they are not showing it in Europe, they are not to bothered about the UK-should think the Polish fans are not happy either-they were better off when Orange sport had the contract. I pointed out that they have two channels and nearly forty hours a day of broadcasting time across the pair so even with the tennis taking up a whole evening there's ample time to show two hours of speedway. After the Grand Prix/Quest and Jack Burnicle fiasco I think we have to be very wary of Eurosport in future. Sure I agree but from ESP point of view; live tennis gives more viewers then speedway -> better commercial conditions -> sell adverts to a higher price -> more income to Eurosport. Rather ironic that Eurosport are always showing repeats of Speedway Meetings( like Latvian GP on once again tomorrow) but never repeat tennis after the next day . Losthammer Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 I have now had my reply as well-reading between the lines they can`t be bothered to show Swedish speedway on British Eurosport if they are not showing it in Europe-which slightly mystifies me as this is exactly what they do with the GP`s I find it really irritating that Eurosport have messed around with speedway this season. Why buy the rights when you are going to not fulfil them fully? It really is unacceptable and I wish Premier Sports had managed to keep Swedish speedway as their coverage was really good, they showed all the meetings and had a knowledgeable commentator who wasn't a nightmare to listen to. i have already installed Polish satellite television so that I can watch speedway from there in HD without worrying about finding a stream. Looks like I'm going to have to install Swedish as well if things don't improve.
