BetGoodwin Oxford Spires: Rohan Tungate, Erik Riss, Charles Wright (C), Peter Kildemand, Tom Brennan (G), Francis Gusts, Luke Killeen (RS).

Watling JCB Leicester Lions: Max Fricke (C), Luke Becker, Ryan Douglas, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Sam Hagon (RS).

Oxford still have Hagon for Leicester in their bang up to the minute website!

I have a dilemma with this one, the weather looks well dodge, there's no Magic and Oxford expect me to pay £2 extra to buy a ticket on the day... it's not really enticing me to make the trip tbh.

Look at it this way you’ve already saved £2.00 by parking at Tesco.😀

Thinking of going to this one weather permitting never been before can you take your own food inside stadium if not what is the food like inside thanks

Never had any trouble taking my own food in. [But I'm guessing they might draw the line at a whole roast hog].

They have pukka pies inside (propa Leicester food)

Oxford are going to need to find a number 1 from somewhere because Tungate has been awful and uninterested. In fact, they could probably do with finding a number 5 as Janowski has been poor too. Kildemand was a big gamble too which doesn't look like paying off.

This team is so far behind the rest of the pack in terms of quality and crowds will soon drop. I can't see Oxford running all 3 leagues again next year.

What is Schroeck's excuse gonna be this time? Kildemand is back & Brennan did an acceptable job as a guest.

I wouldn't rush to get rid of Tungate, as they have points to play with if he moved to a second string position could that get him back to last year's form?

Problem is there isn't an obvious rider to drop, Gusts has been promising, if you replace Tungate with a higher scoring number one, rest of the team still looks average. That's if you can find a new number one. Kildemand has hardly ridden, so he may need more time to show what he can do.

I was impressed with Gilles today and am looking forward to watching him at Leicester. He looks like a proper racer. Can’t get too carried away though as Oxford is the track he’s most likely used to and was racing against a team that looks like it will struggle all season. Was shocked at how poor Tungate was.

Tungate wouldn't have been a No1 five years (and longer), ago when 2nd tier HL's were No1's in the top tier...

Even less chance nowadays when GP riders take up that position...

We started the season with the weakest team and our top two have under performed, that's a recipe for disaster.

Where the riders are that can make a difference I don't know but something must be done, the bare minimum should be winning at home to keep crowds.

Hopefully riders who are now racing in Poland might decide they need more racing.

On The up side there was 15 races & no dust, dispite the weather there were some good races & until the last couple of races it was really close. yes Oxford have a problem at No1 & they have started with what looks to be a weaker side but the racing at Cowley has been good so unless your a died in the wool Oxford fan then there's enough entertainment for all 3 leagues to run at this track

just got back from Oxford, i think the rain had a say in the result, obviously Rohan needs to get going, but Brennan most likely got more than Janowski would.

for Leicester heat 2 was interesting, i think Kemp made the mistake of looking for Gilkes early on and Kileen was able to get both of them

I think you’re right with this. I really enjoyed it and shown was sort of meeting can happen in steady rain throughout with most riders giving it a real go.
Oxford have a real problem though in that Tungate seems so far off of it at the moment. Kildemand looked great in his first race and was then poor for his remaining 3 rides. It’s hard to know who they drop and for who to make things better - but there is some more beatings ahead.

Fricke, Becker and Masters especially were great value for Leicester.

Howarth was solid too!
