Glasgow Vs Edinburgh Scottish cup 2nd leg 11/04/25

Recommended Posts

Well done, Monarchs. Totally deserved. That win tonight will mean more to Edinburgh than the bonus point will to Glasgow.

Sedgmen was outstanding. If he can continue to lead from the front, this Edinburgh side will exceed expectations. An impressive debut from Polis too; huge potential there.

I thought it was quite obvious Boughen is still struggling with his hip, so I’m avoiding criticising him, but I’ve already said my piece on Flint. A major disappointment.

Hodder and Perry delivered their average and had Perry not fallen while in second in heat two, would have doubled his score and it’s possible the meeting sees a different outcome.

Get this out the system, learn from our mistakes and focus on Berwick next weekend.

Think this may be close tonight.

61-29 for the stripes.

This prediction went the same way as my football coupons.

I haven’t had one up in two seasons unsurprisingly.

Well done to Edinburgh tonight Polis looks a talent and Sedgmen was imperious.

Well done Edinburgh, I didn't see that coming although I don't think this Glasgow team is as good as some make out. Boughen in the main body of the team would be a worry for me if they were my team. Early days though.

Boughen's average is higher than every single reserve in the league, I don't know how you could expect him to be a reserve.

Actually Boughen has the highest average of any number 5 in the league (5th highest average in the team) before anyone says he's not at number 5 lol!

Don't rate him as a rider regardless of last seasons average. He is reserve standard meaning Glasgow have 3 reserves IMO.

Wouldn't agree with that, but you're entitled to your opinion.

I reckon Glasgow have the weakest reserves in the league, although they weren't great today, don't think the second string department should be a worry.

Being beaten at home by a side which at the start of the season looked pretty bad on paper is not a good look for Glasgow.

Think that’s harsh on Edinburgh, they were probably the team with the biggest variables pre season but certainly one with plenty of potential and they’ve delivered on it tonight.

In the same breath I would agree it’s poor from Glasgow, a team that on paper looked as good/better than most.

Luckily it’s only Berwick next week so should be a fairly comfortable bounce back, I imagine Sedgy’s phone will be ringing for a guest booking for one of the Bandits heat leaders.

Track wasn't perfect tonight, very bumpy for the first few heats, then quite slick so gating was important. Definetly wasn't the best meeting for Leon but he was always close to the rider ahead was just a bit tougher to pass than normal tonight. Boughen showed what he can do in heat 8 he'll definetly improve. Reserves I think will improve, they didn't look bad just lacking some outright pace. Polis, Sedgmen and Palovaara were very strong and made it very difficult to get a heat advantage anywhere, Grahn also seemed to find something in his last ride to get an important 1-5.

Given both Glasgow reserves beat Max James, I'd say they did their job. There's no-one else in the Edinburgh team you'd expect them to beat.

I thought James would be the top 2 point rider (till July) but while it's early days, so far not showing that.

The boy is carrying an injury and it’s early in the season let’s give him a chance to settle.

There were points were they looked like they could beat some other Edinburgh riders but didn't quite have the power. Perry and Hodder werent afraid to go wide and were trying different lines, they both definetly have potential

Great to see Ashfield so busy tonight!

Hope I'm the only numpty that got stuck in the loop-de-loops of Glasgow with a chunk of M8 westbound being shut. An hour and a half for a 10 mile journey 🫣.

Very early. Pleased for boys. Thank you Drew Kemp. Strengthened the team. Would have loved to have seen him at Armadale. Don't think Paco would have contributed as much. Feel heats 13 and 15 will be challenging to say the least this season.

Though heat 13 was a classic . Disappointed we couldn't win on the night , but at least with Bomber you are guaranteed entertainment if things aren't going the way you'd hoped . Fair play to Edinburgh , impressed with Polis , Armadale might be a different proposition for him though .
