By restrictions, rather than physical barriers such as land borders or existing buildings, the new stadium had a limited amount of land allocated for it to be built which was fully utilised.
In case you were not already aware, the land fans walk past on their way to the stadium from the car park was not  available for speedway having been earmarked for the development of football & BMX facilities. Which have not come to fruition.

Funnily enough the land that the Leicester track is built on was part of the City Council's Sewage Farm and is contaminated by heavy metals contained in the effluent. Thats why there are no houses on it. So you could say Beaumont Park is a brownfield site!

Jaimon "I'll only bring my best kit over from Poland once their season is finished after being bang average for Belle Vue all year" Lidsey?

Becker had to be there to cash in on that "luck" as you put it... he was and he did.

He did better than your number 1 so I will take that.

I'm talking track shape, they had a blank canvass and got it wrong.

EVERYBODY knows this! And they've been trying to polish that particular turd ever since. You have to wonder whether it would have been more cost effective to dig the track up (like they had to do with the NSS) and start again the amount of times it's been altered since.

I've just gone through the update site just to see if I forgotten anything nearly every heat is :

exiting Bend 2 Lap 1.
hit the front exiting Bend 2 Lap 1
up the inside off Bend 2 Lap 1
inside off Bend 2 Lap 1
coming together exiting Bend 2 Lap 1
round the Lions pair exiting Bend 2 Lap 1
and so on

Majority heats could have written the scores down after bend 2 lap 1.
But you says the racing was 'close' that's all the matters then, can ride as close as they want but impossible to pass unless rider in front makes mistake. But if that makes you happy.
Another year of track changes promising better racing, another disappointment.

It's a shame you came down from sunny Manchester determined not to enjoy yourself! I'll counter your selective lowlights from updates with:

Heat 5: Kurtz passed Douglas on Bend 2 Lap 4

Heat 6: Fricke does eventually get up the inside coming off Bend 2 Lap 2

Heat 7: Masters who continued to press hard throughout the race. Kemp went under Cook on Bend 4 Lap 1

Heat 8:  Blodorn comes down on the backstraight whilst battling Becker for the lead

Heat 11: holds off Masters for 2 laps before the race settled down

Heat 12: Lidsey rides a fantastic opening lap to pass Kemp exiting Bend 2 and then Douglas on Bend 4 before clearing off

Heat 13: Bewley trying hard to pass Masters and is briefly past him off Bend 4 Lap 1 before Masters gets back into third down the homestraight

Heat 15: Aces out in front until Fricke forcefully goes under Kurtz entering Bend 3 Lap 2, creating a gap that he goes through and Becker follows

Add this to the tight scoreline, possible come back from the Aces and Fricke putting in a captains ride to win the match with his partner in the last race decider... and I'm not really sure what you want from a Speedway match, I can only conclude it's a win at all costs.

But apart from that? :D
