bigcatdiary
It’s early doors but it must be clear to most on here that Ipswich are head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in every department, No 1, heat leaders, second strings and reserves. They clearly had a plan to utilise the British discounts and with the whopping reduction for Thompson as well they have put together a super team. And with 3 riders on the up (Brennan, Thompson & Jenkins) it’s obvious even now injuries aside they are going to walk it. The other teams could have gone the same way but decided to do it differently for a variety of reasons. To be fair Ipswich have had little success since 1998 so are due a good year, especially after the horrors of 2024. 4
PhilTheAce
ipswich have the best team on paper but they need to worry if they are peaking to early, its better to peak towards end of season and not the start, oxford are a dreadful team and they still scored more than us, so its not all bad from them

Don’t be bloody daft there was absolutely nothing in that whatsoever 🙄 Wright just did what Wright does. The bloke even wants pistols at dawn with his own team mates. He’s an idiot.

Yes, Ellis passed Wright, but Ellis was first from the tapes, Wright under him on the third bend, Ellis back around on the fourth bend. Ellis elbowing another rider to get the advantage at the first turn and then not being able to take it when confronted about it after the race. He would soon moan if the same was done to him in reverse. Still, it livened up a meeting which, up until then, didn't have a lot of atmosphere.

That insinuates they aren’t good in reality, they are just better for a fact, not on paper. Look at the table! Walked over Belle Vue home and away, everyone assumed that would be a good match up and they got completely done. I do think Magic should have been allowed a re-run from when he fell on the first bend. The meeting didn’t have much riding on it at that point and another 5-1 to Ipswich seemed slightly underwhelming against only gusts.

That’s the thing the BV trolls keep harping on about us cheating and being moneybags but it is down to good team planning. With the Thompson reduction at least he was in our team last season, why are they not having a pop at Sheffield for getting the same reduction for Anders Rowe when he was at KL last season.

I have no link to them but I hope they win the league at a canter this season then the playoffs. It does remind me somewhat of when Poole used to waltz to the title and the other clubs would all be bitter about it. With Gavan being an Ippo fan and never getting along with him on this forum I can't believe I am writing it but he seems to of calmed down in recent years so don't mind saying it. It’s actually disappointing and tbh I don’t really get it. We’ve had a couple from Leicester throwing in a few jealous barbs and yesterday one from Lynn sticking his size 10’s in and making up complete lies that the Ipswich fans on here have been cocky and claimed the title has already been won when NONE of us have come close to claiming that!! It’s all a bit bizarre. BCD is right when he says we haven’t won the title since 98 so with Chris Louis working hard to consistently put together really good sides these last few years and being so unlucky last year, you’d think neutrals who’s own team can’t win it, would be routing for us rather than sticking the boot in which seems to be happening. All a bit strange.
Kryten
Ipswich have done some strange things this season with team building... using the full amount of points available, what's that all about? Signing British riders in the engine room, when everyone knows you are supposed to use Australian's? Tainted victory that will be 🤣 1

TTT
Ipswich as a collective group, Not just Doyle and Emil are making GP/Ekstraliga riders look bang average around Foxhall. Kurtz, Lidsey, Bewley, Tungate and Janowski have put up a combined 22 Points from 24 Rides around Foxhall so far this season.

Yes you are right, But on Paper and being without doubt the best team today doesn't win you the playoffs., which was the point Phil was making. I can assure you that I report every pass irrespective of where it happens on the track even when there are many of them (see heat 8 last week). it takes a lot to annoy me, but you have managed to achieve it. I apologise unreservedly. I happen to believe you do report accurately on the meetings but the report was at odds with what was being said by witches fans ie bends 3&4. Sorry again. I should just ignore it. The majority of speedway fans surely just appreciate anybody that takes time out from their own evening to send updates for the rest of us. On behalf of them, thank you.
BackInTheDHSS
Weird how so many Belle Vue fans are bothered by the Ipswich team. Seems like most fans of the other clubs appreciate some good team building, and just wish their own clubs could field a similar team.... not Belle Vue. A lot of jealousy coming from the NSS. As an Oxford fan, last night was a pretty tough - but not unexpected - watch. A lot of work to do for the Spires, but a lot of wiggle room with points if they can find the right rider. To start with they need to get a couple of the riders going, Tungate in particular. Not sure what’s up with him at the moment but he looks a shadow of the rider that impressed last season. It’s bound to come at some point though. Need Riss back in the side also, not sure how long he’s likely to be out?

Adam beat him fair and square on the track and afterwards wright went after him like he’d found in bed with his wife ffs…

I agree, although with regards to the Spires team, 3 or 4 different riders are needed to make any real difference.
