Sheffield v Kings Lynn 10/4/25

Recommended Posts

After the demolition of Birmingham I’m expecting a tougher test against KL. Harris, Lawson, NKI all ride Owlerton well so will be some closer racing. Flint and Rowe had pretty much perfect Sheffield debuts hoping for more of the same.
Ben Cook at number 1 is an obvious weak point for KL in this meeting fully expecting Harris to have 7 rides.
No signs of a temp signing to cover for Tai guessing it will be R/R again.

52-38 home win

I think we need to be realistic, there's not gonna be a temp signing to replace Woffinden. Sheffield really need to look at a new riders(s) for the season.

It's not even a case of giving Tai time to recover without the pressure of when to return, I'm sure both Sheffield management & Tai's families are only concerned with him making a full recovery at this time. When that does (fingers crossed) happen, then he can think about riding speedway again, if he wants to.

10-12 point home win.  For Kings Lynn majority of points will come from Harris with a bit of backup from NKI and Kvech, having Cook at number 1 especially at a track he’s struggled is a big weak point and can’t seen him bothering the Sheffield heat leaders.  Lawson and Klindt hit and miss around Owlerton with riding order being key for those two.
As for Sheffield can only see Holder’s being caused an issue by Harris, don’t think Pickering, Rowe and Flint will score as high as they did against a poor Birmingham side, but will have enough in the tank even having to run R/R to get over the line

I think that's the best thing to do.

From a racing perspective, Sheffield need a top rider to replace Tai if the top heavy team building is going to work and you're not going to get one unless you can commit to them for the season.

From a human perspective, it would mean that there aren't any will he won't he questions about Tai coming back at some point this season. This may give Tai and his family a bit more privacy from English fans and media, something that they have continually asked for. It also kind of forces Tai to focus on his recovery. He's such a competitor that if he is even remotely fit for the end of the season, he may want to return and help the team and try and get that winning feeling again. By replacing him there is simply no possible comeback this season, which is probably for the better for him health wise.

Kings Lynn will provide stronger opposition than Birmingham, so expecting a closer match than last week.

One the subject of Tai's replacement, we have a 28 day facility for Tai, so I think that the club will use that facility to the 28 day duration , be that Rider Replacement or a Guest Rider depending upon who is available.

Knowing what the Promotion are like I think that they will be looking for a replacement or replacements if they think that a double replacements is required.

For the meeting I think that we can definitely beat the Stars, but like I say its will be a closer than last week.

All great points.

Harris at reserve is going to cause Sheffield a massive problem.

King's Lynn to win this one purely due to the fact that Bomber will likely take 7 rides and should score over a dozen points.

Even though Bomber is at reserve. It's still a lot to ask for him to be the match winner at every meeting. Fair enough he broke down when winning heat 2 last night, but after that he scored 3+1 beating Mulford and Z Cook. Even winning heat 2 his score would have been 6+1. Even though a good score for a reserve. From a Kings Lynn perspective, not a match winning one.

Agree.

The way KL's 1-7 has been built all the pressure is on the No.6 to score a dozen plus in every meeting to compensate for the lack of firepower at No.1/No.5.

If the No.6 doesn't go well then King's Lynn will get hammered.

Lynn to lose quite heavily again I fear. Never go that well around Owlerton, with Harris being our only lifeline. Shouldn’t expect him to save us every meeting though. 54-36.
