unless the rules changed this year you always could swap reserves in heat 8

Since the second year of the RS system, the RS had to be at number 7 & couldn't be replaced in heat 8. Plus no tac subs in heat 8.

The Champ is slightly different, no tac subs in heat 8, but strongest reserve can ride at 6 or 7, plus reserve changes allowed in heat 8.

That's an incredibly disappointing evening for the Stars.

Presumably whatever went on Bomber's machine affected him for the rest of the night but as a team 33 just isn't good enough. Much, much better required on Thursday at Sheffield.

I’m sure most of us agree that he shouldn’t be in the GP series but Kvech only scoring 4 points after 3 rides at the NSS really isn’t good enough.

For a 6.5 rider away from home against Belle Vue's heat leaders, that's not an awful showing. However for a GP rider it's very disappointing. But he did nothing to warrant a GP return except be born in Czech Republic tbh.

I see your point but I wouldn't have expected much from him tonight, He's a good rider but his profile has been glorified by being handed GP spots based on him being from Czechia.

I would've expected 4-6 points at best because he was never going to beat Bewley or Kurtz and he was always going to finish last (On paper) in Heat 13.

That was what I was expecting to be honest, the Kings Lynn 'Unlucky' Stars lost 3 points with a Harris EF in heat 2, which he was winning comfortably.  The track was prepared quite grippy, which meant the racing was quite processional in the early heats Kurtz being unable to get near Lawson in heat 1 highlighted that.  It also meant Klindt wasn't in the slightest interested.   Harris had a decent third ride, he was faster than Lidsey who won that heat but gave him too much of a lead as Harris had to negotiate traffic.
NKI was the pick of the Stars, had two good battles with Blodorn & Z Cook but was also totally blitz by a sensational first bend by Kurtz after NKI has made the initial jump.  Belle Vue heat leaders are too quick for him these days.  Cook, Kvech & Lawson did about what I'd expect from an NSS visit.  Boughen was overhauled by both Aces in heat 2 & really seemed to bottle it when Zishke assed him, but made the Aces work for their heat 8 5-1 in which Lawson was completely anonymous.
Someone predicted Bewley would drop 4 points tonight, absolutely ridiculous as proved.
Z Cook getting the better of NKI was what surprised me most & Mulford showed he does have potential.
Kurtz produced the fastest lap 1 time in 10 years apparently when he blitzed past NKI, it was good to see Blodorn back in the mix after a poor night in the KO Cup.  Lidsey hit a massive pile up of loose material on the apex of bends 3&4 in heat 15 which only Lindgren, French grasstrackers & Bewley seem to be able to plough through which blotted his scorecard.

Trouble was no KL rider was on it, only excuse was Ashton who is probably carrying an injury, the rest were woeful with the exception of Iversen.

Don't think much more could have been expected from Ben Cook TBH, he was the only Star to beat Lidsey until heat 15.  Going from gate 4 in heat 1 at the NSS is something Fricke, Bewley and until this season Kurtz struggled with.  Zagar was the only rider to consistently get decent outcome from that scenario.

Wasn't his last visit to the NSS when he threw away a spot in the SoN final for Czechia trying to chase down Lebedevs when along side Milik they had the other Latvian relegated to last?  At least he didn't do anything stupid like that last night.  He beat Zach Cook which NKI failed to do in heat 14.
