then why do the promoters keep lying about it. fact is if Jenkins wanted to sign for Ipswich, then he shouldnt be a rising star.

I never said the promotors were lying. I’m just stating my opinion that riders being forced to ride somewhere because they’ve been picked is a farce that shouldn’t happen. Every rider should make the decision where they want to ride. He should have been a rising star by the way because he was on the list.

I agree, just wish the powers that be would come out and say it though, rather than have us believe it is the way they have written it.

But we don’t know that’s definitely the case do we? The “official” line from Louis is that they were surprised and delighted when he was still available. Yes Lynn earmarked him early doors, but nobody even Louis and Jenkins themselves knew if he’d be eligible and it was a waiting game. As soon as Lynn’s team started to fall in to place and they knew Harris was going to be at reserve, perhaps their target changed? We know the links between Harris and Boughen so MAYBE Lynn chose Boughen instead with Harris’ input?

Oxford had a pick before us and Jenkins is clearly a stronger rider than Killeen (at the moment), but the way the Oxford manager makes some bizarre decisions is it really that much of a surprise that he’d pick Killeen over Jenkins? None of his decisions make an ounce of sense let’s be brutally honest.

People are always gonna have their suspicions on this but they might be wrong. We’ll never know for sure will we.

That’s the problem we have with the cheque book clubs and their win at all COSTS mentality.

We have a pick system in place for the RS process but that gets unfairly circumnavigated by waving £££££ at a rider, thus making the whole process redundant.

The cheque book comes out again to lure a rider who had spent much of the season riding at number one to replace a reserve. To add insult to injury the reserve rider left without a club has to fill the void left my the missing number one.

When we released Tom to Birmingham to aid their team building on their step up, we never imagined he’d end up being poached by a money club. To be honest we shared the opinion of most that Ipswich were perfectly capable of making a strong challenge for gold with their 2024 team (we’ve heard it often enough ffs) but greed takes hold of these kind  and it’s an “I’m alright Jack” attitude. An attitude at odds with UK speedway in its current financial state. It beggars belief.

if you dont believe it youre in cloud cuckoo land, probably because it benefits your team. there is 0% chance that Jenkins wasnt wanted by other clubs before Ipswich.

You simply don’t know that do you? You’re speculating. The explanation I’ve given above isn’t beyond the realms of possibility is it? All the Lynn fans were telling us that Boughen was requested by Harris. Is that true or not?

In my opinion the reason Luke Killeen is at Oxford is because he is in their Championship side and they wanted him. Why is an Australian is on the rs list?

So you want it to benefit YOUR team instead by getting first dibs because you were crap the previous season? Lol

The whole priority “pick” based on a completely different season’s league placings is bonkers. Why should a team get to choose the best rider first just because they were useless the previous season? It’s a different season!!!

Not sure what the fuss is about where any young Brit rides....we need to support them wherever they go....

Its an expensive game and locality of a rider makes a difference when seeking sponsors etc

Good luck to Jenkins, be great if he can make it....

And he’s younger, perhaps they want to give him the experience to pull him along with the future in mind? And as I said, Harris wanted Boughen at Lynn so that explains that one. It’s not pure fantasy to suggest Jenkins was genuinely available when Ipswich got their pick but @therefused would rather just blatantly call Chris Louis a liar without any evidence to back up his claim.

That’s never sat well with me either. Rewarding for failure. If you’re going to run the rising star scheme, just create a list and let everyone get on with it like they do every other rider. Would end all this nonsense stone dead.

On the sponsors, Jenkins has cited that as one of the reasons he wanted to return to Ipswich. He’s gotten a couple of good local sponsors that help him tremendously.

Do you have evidence Harris wanted Boughen with him?

No I don’t, I’m just going by what you lot were saying on your 2025 thread.

Do you have any evidence that Chris Louis is lying and that there wasn’t in fact, priority picks in reverse finishing order?

Obviously, like Connor Bailey before him he's going to use family ties to claim British citizenship.
