Sheffield v Birmingham 3/4 Premiership R1

Recommended Posts

Can't say much more other than an excellent performance from the boys. Special mention has to go to Leon, I think it's fair to say that on his visits to Owlerton he's looked a bit under power and was often there for the taking. Not tonight, looked really quick and did an excellent job to hold off Musielak and to pass round Jeppesen.

Early days, and no offence to Birmingham, but we will come up against bigger challenges this season. But a very encouraging start to the season.

That performance tonight was for Tai.

I said earlier in the thread we were never going to get beaten tonight.

Okay reality check Birmingham are by far not the strongest team in the league, but they did try but Sheffield stepped it up a level and everyone of the 6 riders deserves credit and all played their part in the win.

Anders Rowe and Leon Flint deserve special mentions.

I don't think I have ever seen a better performance from home debut from Anders, and I think that this season he will reach heatleader standard for Poole.

And Leon awesome performance but for an engine failure it would have been 13 from 5 rides tonight, and with Leon on this sort of form along with Kyle Howarth, Chris Harris and Dan Thompson in good form Glasgow have a power packed top 4 that should do well in the championship.Ā

Slightly curious how you think Birmingham tried - they were one of the worst sides I have seen in over 25 years at Owlerton! Zagar Jenson and even Tobias were shocking. Both Zagar and Jenson got out of the gate once and held on for wins but it was at the end of the meeting.Ā
Ā

I counted about three passes all night also - for Ā£25 quid plus Ā£4 for the programme it was poor entertainment it really was.Ā

Rowe looked good - but how can riders like Zagar and co be losing to a home RS and a no 2.Ā

Brum were woeful apart from heat 12 and 13. Really was a shocking performance. Expected the heat leaders and Rew to be banging some points in. It was all too easy for Sheffield, Flint looked like a different rider than Iā€™ve ever seen him round Sheffield. Rowe showing exactly why we signed him, heā€™s really on the up as a rider he will be one of the signings of the season. Picko and the Holders fast and smooth as ever.Ā

that was for Woffy ā¤ļø

brum had two meetings before this sheffield none

rowe and flint getting hatfuls while tobi scores threeĀ

all very bizarreĀ

While Birmingham had ridden two matches, neither were on a track remotely like Owlerton. Sheffield scored more than I expected, but don't think of it as a major shock as when Birmingham are bad they are very bad.

I await the excuses with interest!šŸ«£

Wasn't it ....'set-ups' after the first match v Leicester ???Ā

The only excuse I can think of is.....'B'ham's so called TOP 3 are 'sh#te' yet again!?

No desire....'meal tickets'!!!

No disrespect to Flint/Rowe, but they shouldn't be peeing all over B'hams Heat Leaders....especially on a proper race track like Sheffield!

How do you pass when the Sheffield riders consistently gated and the Birmingham riders were no where near them?

The only exception was heat 13 when Holder chased Zagar and nearly caught him on the line
