Edinburgh v Glasgow April 4th

No complaints about the result. Dan Thompson was brilliant and Bomber showed his class with that move in ht15. Edinburgh are a team full of ‘alright’ riders. Hoping Polis is a bit of a diamond otherwise we’re not going to do much damage. Big shout out to the track shop for introducing a gilet for the middle class speedway goer. Great addition to my wardrobe.

I think it's going to be a big year for Dan Thompson. He was superb at Oxford last night, mixing it with genuine world class riders, and it looks like he was pretty impressive again this evening.

A few things from tonight:

Heats 13 and 15 went as expected. The lack of real top end strength will define this season.

Michele Castagna - dreadful lack of team riding in heat 7, leaving young Max to fend off Leon Flint. To follow that up by landing himself in the fence while chasing shadows a couple of laps later was,quite frankly, pathetic.

Super Grahn is probably Average Grahn at best. Didn't really attack the track and looked relatively slow throughout.

Overall not the worst evening's racing, with a not unexpected defeat thrown in for good measure. Let's hope for warmer weather in the coming weeks. Only two and a half months 'til summer...

Just home. Great result and to be fair to the Armadale track, a decent night of speedway.

I thought Dan Thompson, Harris and Howarth were outstanding. I also thought the six paid seven from Hodder and Perry was excellent; a welcome surprise, especially when you factor in Boughen’s evening.

You knew something wasn’t right with Boughen, but it’s the opening fixture of the season and the local derby, so who can blame him for giving it a go?

Edinburgh might be concerned by Castagna’s showing, but he won’t have many meetings like that at Armadale. Meanwhile, Thomsen had a decent evening and Palovaara was outstanding from reserve.

That must have been one of the largest crowds Armadale has ever seen, too. I’ve never seen it so busy.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening of speedway. Delighted it’s back.

Just checking that (a) you understand how sport works and (b) you recognise it's speedway. Enjoy the deserved win but let's not pretend I'll be walking into some atmospheric den next Friday.

I'm not a Boomer and couldn't really care less about the Wembley finals or Cardiff. Never been.

Maybe they'll make more noise at turn four on Friday. It's not like we humped you, so don't go saying there was nothing to cheer!

So the cheering wasnt loud enough for you. How sad. I hope those on the 4th bend cheer loud enough for your liking on Friday. 

The Wembley and Cardiff comment was to pre-emt comments, but that passed you by too.
