R/R for Oskar tomorrow, polish club won’t release him from an event they have tomorrow night to ride and with it not registering as an official fixture so to speak they are pulling rank so to speak.

How can they get away with that if their meeting is not an official one

They don’t have a meeting, I believe it’s a club event of some sort they have which they are making him attend. Scottish cup isn’t classed as an official fixture so they can stop him from riding if they wish unfortunately.

Does that mean he will be out next Friday also  for the second leg or is this just a one off ?   Kye, Victor, Jonatan & Max eligible to take his rides ?  Not the start to the season we would have wished for so a bit extra pressure on the others .  NB OK I see it is a one off thats a relief.

I think people would agree Edinburgh don't have a strong spearhead, but that's not what will make the team successful. If the new / returning riders can adapt to Britain, that's what could help them win meetings.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

It is by far the weakest top two Edinburgh have started with and the only positive thing I can see is that Palovaara is a decent reserve. True, the two newcomers may be superstars but if they turn out to be duds?

Most seasons you look at Edinburgh and think should do well at home at the very least but this team has home beatings written all over it.

I am just stating it as I see it, I haven't ever known them to start with such a weak line up.

Very disappointing. Like many I suspect he was the one I was keen to see. No-one’s fault I suppose but speedway doesn’t help itself. That’ll be VP getting his seven rides then!

This, x100.

Only in speedway could the novelty of seeing a rider for the first time be take away at 24-48 hours notice because said rider is signing autographs in Poland.

It’s a constant dilution of the British product.

What idiot was representing UK on the International Speedway League Bureau at the time the rules were formed? Clearly not one who could negotiate and stick up for the UK.

They club have been in contact with his polish club until yesterday to get them to release him, hence the late Announcement.

Have nothing against Polish riders, in fact most are great to watch, however am not so sure about celebrating having one when permission for availability from Polska can change almost overnight.  Not the riders fault at all but it does leave a sour taste in the mouth especially as it could well happen again in the future.  # bum deal for the paying public.

Sadly we won't see Polis but on the other hand it makes Edinburgh stronger on the night and likely to win and allows headlines like 'Despite no Oscar performance, the Monarchs come up victorious thanks to Victor'

Or "Call the Polis and wait another week for them (him) to arrive." ☺️

Assume the Promotion were aware of the rules when they signed Polis?

Given apart from Poole & Oxford, all other Championship tracks home nights are Friday/Saturday, the likelihood of clashes of interest for Polish riders is higher.

Edinburgh are the only CL side to sign a Pole for 2025.

Glasgow seem to have learned from the problem of signing European riders with Polish commitments, in the past, and wisely have opted to track seven Englishmen, with the added bonus of the 2.5% starting GSA allowance this Season.

From a PR perspective, any newcomers or resident Polish fans who bought tickets because of the "Polish attraction", this might deter any interest in further visits to Armadale 😒

This is technically a friendly so if the Poles want to pull rank they can.

The club Spoke with Opole to try and get him relieved of what was basically media duties and they refused.

If this was BSN/KO cup/league match he’d of been at Armadale tonight.

Have no fear. We'll get our revenge the next time a Polish club signs a Scotsman...
