Reluctant to say this is a formality because sometimes you can end up looking stupid, but in reality this SHOULD be pretty straightforward to progress to the next round. Zach far far better here than his brother was so Belle Vue will be stronger here this year so expecting a decent contest. Always good watching Kurtz around Foxhall, really fast here.

Saw some ridiculous stats yesterday. Doyle’s average at home in 2023 over 11, same last year but only three meetings ridden due to his crash. The biggest surprise for me was Ellis. 9.42 home average over all home meetings, a shade under Emil’s 9.65! Throw in King who can often be a double points scorer at Foxhall along with Brennan who also rides it very well, and nobody is getting a sniff here are they?

Ellis was really good at Foxhall - if he got out of the gate he was often away - he also pickled up a fair few 5-1s with his partner. His injury hampered the Witches as well in my view.

Everyone will feel confident but the Witches lost 2 times to BV at home in 2023 i think it was so no room for complacency!! I do expect a home win however - Kurtz will be the top man for BV.

They did but different teams to be fair. First time out that year Ipswich had an out of his depth Joe Thompson with three duck eggs, Hume partnered him at reserve, Riss was toiling in the main body With his brain fog illness and Rew who was finding his feet in British Speedway. Belle Vue had Lidsey at reserve for the first meeting, and Brennan at reserve for the second victory! Completely different kettle of fish this time around. Ipswich did then batter them by 18 in the semi that year also. I don’t expect them to get close on Thursday but we’ll see.

We had a great couple of days last week practicing and catching up with everyone again. Now it is time for the real business to start. The track was awesome last week, and you can really see the effort, Bob (Ellis) and Chris (Louis) and all the track staff have put in over the winter to improve it. I’m sure it will provide a great racetrack, and we have got some great racers here on Thursday.

Found this bit interesting on the meeting preview. They’ve worked hard on sorting the Camber over the winter to try and improve the racing so it’ll be interesting to watch on Thursday to see if there’s much improvement there.

A great team no doubt. Your averages include bonus points though. Home GSA's for the 24 season was JD 10.55, Emil 8.94, and Adam Ellis 7.48 respectively. Still very good btw.

Ipswich by 12+

Middle order of the Aces didn't perform at the NSS on Mon. The Witches reserve pairing of Thompson and Jenkins should easily outscore Zischke + Mulford.

It may take Doyle a couple of meetings to get back up to speed after injury and although Kurtz rides Foxhall well , you expect the Witches to win this easily.

Yes I know but why wouldn’t you use their actual average to get a true reflection of performance? There’s no such thing as an official green sheet for team building and rider position purposes on the “rider averages” section. It’s simply a form guide and a performance stat for that particular year even though a “GSA” is listed.

Myself, and i think most people, use the average that is used to build the team, when quoting rider averages. Each to their own though :t:

Doyle’s the most dominant home rider in the league. Even taking the GSA without bonus’ he’s over a point clear of his nearest challenger who is Kurtz. Foxhall is Doyle’s back yard, he’s made it his fortress and he absolutely hates getting beat around there. He gets beat occasionally of course he does, but his reaction to that defeat says it all! Parks his bike on the stock track, rips out his cut out and storms in to his pit bay throwing his helmet around 😁 Hates being beaten there with a passion and it’s something I love to see.

maybe so but one result doesn't a season make and all that - but cracking start and advantage witches for sure!

Won't be down for this but will be keeping tabs - best of luck to Tom B on his home 'debut' he weighed in with a decent score last night also!
