In all fairness, Musielak at number 1 was a good signing as has proven himself as a number one in the UK in recent years. Also MJJ had a superb season in Poland last year so for them pair to get 6 points between them is a surprise. On paper they are two good signings.

Riding in England is completely different to Poland

Funny how Birmingham signed a unproven Finnish rider when Kemp was right there infront of them only for Leicester to sign him

i mean hes not really unproven

and across the whole season in both leagues rather than just one meeting i think he will prove himself to be comfortably the better rider

kemp is what he is and voulas has more to come imo

Kemp might well have improvement left in him he certainly made some last season.

Kemp doesn't have the bottle/confidence/style, to be other than a good 'gater'!

Having said that....he would've fitted well on B'ham's slicker than slick surface!

I don't know about bottle or confidence but he definitely has the style, he looks very comfortable, tidy and in control on a bike to me.

Fair enough...may be I should change the word style to flare ?

He is a smooth rider....but I'd say more safe than style?

It's a strange one isn't it, he's been around for quite a while now and has never really had a break through unlike Tom Brennan and Dan Thompson

He didn't really prove himself a number 1 at Kings Lynn last year, he was signed as third heat leader originally by Sheffield behind Holder & Ellis, he certainly surpassed the latter but not the former.  Briefly in the averages maybe but not over a season.  Musielak average is 8.2ish... Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley, Kurtz, Fricke, Holder * 2 & Woffinden are all on higher starting averages.  Making him the 9th best rider in the league in theory.. only 7 teams, wouldn't make him a genuine #1 in my eyes.

He was good at Sheffield - i suspect (know) its more like a Polish track than Birmingham is!! Lets hope for Birminghams sake it was first meeting rustiness as to have another under performing Polish heat leader would seem like carelessness!

Indeed...

You only have to watch the podcasts with several "top" riders talking about how much more "fun" and "less intense" and how much more "social" it is over here...

Mixing together in the pits for example being cited as an indicator of how so much more "relaxed" a meeting is over here...

No point taking too many risks over here when your Polish team will stop paying you (and want their up front money back), if you get injured riding in the UK..

Yeah Kemp is a gater but isn't all that hot if he doesn't make the gate, watched him to many times when he rode for the Witches and when things got a bit nip and tuck with other riders he'd back off to easily rather then mix it.

Was the same at m.g.
