TTT
Just not meant to be for Birmingham Speedway is it? The Management worked hard in the winter to snap up some proper HL's and it's already deja vu. Keynan Rew doing Tom Brennan's job of last season by carrying the team on his back could become a regular occurence if tonight is anything to go by. heathen52
Yet another long long suffering season ahead for Brummie fans, no matter who they sign they seem to go backwards at Brum, the track doesn't help because it is a gaters track, if they sign 7 gating tarts they might have half a chance, mind you from the outside it seems Leicester were up for the meeting whereas half the Brummies were still sleeping at the tapes. No, so surprised why he been getting so much hype as a signing, he been on a downward trend for quite a few years and after a year off it was always a risk.
THE DEAN MACHINE
Track was way to slick for any real racing but and it’s a big but Birmingham were left at the tapes in nearly all the races and that was the difference, rew battled hard for his points, musielak was poor except one race, Edward’s started well but faded, zagar never looked like winning a race, voulas battled for minor places, MJJ didnt really look competitive even when placed, jeppersen was competitive and at least got a race win , Birmingham will not be this bad again but they need some home track advantage and I suggest the management start by ripping up the starts like a ploughed field

He didn't look bad in the Peter Craven meeting tbf, Matej was in the mix for his first 4 rides scoring points in all of them against a very tough field. Hackett
Hopefully just early season troubles for the Brummies as the riders get used to Perry Barr. Get stronger as the season goes on. Did not anticipate much from Birmingham but they need to be competitive paying all those air miles. szkocjasid
Disappointed for Birmingham, not a shock to lose, but thought they'd have scored a bit more. I don't know what it is, but it seems like riders lose form as soon as they put a Brummies race suit on, I almost feel like Zmarzlik wouldn't be the world Champ if he had a big red B on his kevlars (which is ridiculous I know). Almost feel like the reverse of Poole, riders go there & have their best seasons, but go to Birmingham & the opposite happens.
Pinny
I didn't think they looked league winning material but thought they looked better than this (Birmingham). Clear to see looking at the scores that its the heatleaders that are the problem there. 11+1 between the 3 of them. Maybe people were right about Zagar, I thought he would still come in and do a good job as he has always been a good gater. Things need to change there and fast or it will be another season like last season.
Col
7 home debuts, what did you expect? Had Musielak, Zagar, Jepperson or Jepson-Jensen ever actually competed in a competitive race at Perry Barr before?

And was a one track pony last time he rode competitively here for the Aces. his away average was around 5, which I’m expecting that to be near to his finishing average for this season. FishersGate
Birmingham were crap, no surprise there. I do think they will get better though. A brand new side on a track that some of them of barely done a lap round it, it was always going to be a big ask to start strong against a decent Lions side. I do think even before this meeting the team is bang average. Toby is a great rider but I can't see any other riders giving him big support in heats 13 and 15 , Zagar isn't that rider anymore. The rest of the side OK, that's about it. OK. The battle for 6th place will be interesting between Oxford and Birmingham that's sure. This is exactly why I predicted Leicester to run out easy winners. to many new to the league riders for a first match. It will get better for brum at home. Just hang in there

GiveusaB
Track was way too slick for any sort of entertainment (regardless of the score), but its the first meeting, so have to see what the next one brings? Thank heavens for Fricke in Heat 15....the only excitement of the night! I thought Rew/Vuolas and Jonas Jeppesen showed some promise....Edwards is Edwards and will be hit and miss! As for the so called top 3? well, we can only expect them to get sorted for the next meeting....you'd have thought that they'd of had enough advice about set-ups etc.... Put some dirt on the track and see how they go from there..... Some great gating by the Leicester boys!
