Pinny
That Schroeck is clueless. People have said it since he was Rye House's manager. That Oxford side looks absolutely dreadful. Needs a big hitter in there to replace Riss. It's an absolute p**stake that they have started the season so far under the limit as well. Ashton was well in the mix and made a good contribution, but Harris was riding too well to not get an extra ride. Gusts was excellent value once he got dialed in. Schroek missed a trick in heat 10, should have put Gusts in place of his love child... Gonna be a good season but we'll meet stiffer opposition for sure. It might be early doors, but 2nd place in the league isn't beyond us For Lynn to have a successful season, then they need to be prepared to drop Boughen from races when he's done no wrong. While it may seem harsh, no point in having a powerhouse reserve if he doesn't get extra rides. So far the TM got it spot on. If the aggregate points are already won or lost before heat 14s, give Boughen his 4th ride then.

But you'd imagine that Lyon has already thought of that what with him being so highly thought of by Lynn fans.

Someone like Middlo would replace a rider when 20 points up, because he wants to win by 22 points. Ruthless maybe but he gets the results.
szkocjasid
While it's a great start for Lynn, Oxford won't be their toughest opponents this season & it'll be harder once Harris isn't at reserve. But whoever replaces him at reserve should also do well (but not scoring maximums). But after 5 poor seasons, Lynn fans must be feeling more positive than they have for some time.
Steve Irving
Still don’t know what to make of King’s Lynn. Harris isn’t getting a paid max at reserve every week is he, Oxford are truly awful. Still think they’ll get outgunned most weeks because the majority of the side are inconsistent and flaky. A strong reserve will keep them competitive though. Tough battle with Leicester for fourth. Oxford fans on FB especially seem to be very protective of Schroeck, don't like him getting any criticism. I was even blocked from the Official Oxford FB site for daring to suggest he was an awful team manager. No abusive language etc, just giving an honest opinion that didn't flatter Oxford. As crazy as that sounds, that's what they did (multiple times) last season. Edited Tuesday at 11:20 PM by szkocjasid
TTT
The time to judge King's Lynn will be against the stronger sides in the league, Almost everyone should be taking Oxford to the cleaners this season.

I do agree, but if I were a long suffering Stars fan, I'd be delighted we don't look like the weakest team for a change. Ridiculously early days, but looks like 5 teams fighting for the top 4 spots

Hackett
Bomber Harris at reserve , is like taking a B52 to a duck shoot !! 💥💥 17+1 PAID MAX - Fair play. Be interesting to see how the Stars do against a team with two strong heat leaders. At least the season has started now !!

With most teams you kind of know which direction they’re likely headed. For me Lynn are a bit of a head scratcher and I can’t quite make them out at the moment. AlexBrady
First team meeting for me since Leicester Vs Sheffield in late August 2023, and of course first time back at KL since June 2023. Different perspective standing on turn 4 for the first time. The track was just how the Lynn boys would’ve wanted it, smooth, consistent and the starts ripped. I would like to see a bit more dirt on the track and maybe scratch the outside line to give a bit more grip but Bomber certainly found the pace. His style suits Lynn so well by letting the bike run deep into the corner and turning it hard and getting his wheels in line quicker than anyone else - such a difficult skill. I only wish I could’ve got him over the line when I was there! You can only beat what’s in front of you and I fully expect Lynn to go through after Thursday, but it was great to see them start with a strong win. As so many have said, much bigger tests to come but I really look like the look of this side, I pray it’s finally Lynns year for some silverware, although I fear our ‘friends’ in Suffolk will have a lot to say about that. Final point - Good to see a solid crowd. Whilst the racing wasn’t the best (Bomber aside) winning will keep these crowds going - let’s hope for more of the same next Monday against Belle Vue - reserves will be difference again in that one I hope.

The Cheese
Schroeck: “It was the Bomber (Harris) show. He wanted to make a statement, which is what we expected. When you take him away, it was pretty level between the two teams.” That's an idea for next season. The losing team can request that the opposition's top scorer has their points taken away.
