Starting the season with two high-profile matches with the best riders, who are actually going to be there rather than being injured or not being bothered. Typical speedway fans though, lose their minds when there's change or they don't like something!
Jaizer
Have to admit find it very weird. Howarth and Dan T haven't turned a wheel for us but represent us in the plrc, doesn't feel right tbh

Thought he wasn't racing championship last year. So must be using his average from the premiership converted?

There is a problem with using a converted average to pick the field (another reason to have the meeting later in the season) for example Riss has a higher average than Danny King, but King had a higher average when they last both rode in the Champ (2023), King has a higher Prem average currently. But as they're using Riss' 24 Prem ave & King's 24 Champ ave, Riss is higher ranked. Just as well it wasn't every number 1 & the top 7 number 2s or King would've missed out. Pinny
In all honesty you can't win with this meeting. If you have it at the start of the season with a full strength line up, people are moaning that riders haven't even ridden for their club yet and it doesn't feel right and if you have it at the end of the season, riders pull out and people complain.

There is usually a massive gap, with riders twiddling their thumbs mid season and the weather is more likely to be favourable too.
