szkocjasid
I wonder why Richard Lawson isn't riding. I thought the whole point of the early season date was to ensure the strongest field possible?

Has done it last 2 seasons when Steve Worrall and Tom Brennan been WCs at Cardiff so they couldn't do it. Assuming you can still have any 2 of top 3? Or running meetings in March with no field. NKI got very lucky, pleased for him. Our weather has always had a serious impact on UK Speedway. It will never change. But people complained about riders pulling out of the rider championship last season and were up in arms! No wonder British speedway can’t win, people just love a good twine.

Robinh88
I prefer the new idea. Don't understand the negativity on this one.

Agreed, this is 100% better than a lineup of second strings due to riders being injured or not being interested. This way the season is opened with two high-profile matches with the best riders. Typical speedway fans though, lose their minds about anything!

Why? berwicks 1st meeting is Easter Saturday press and practice is a publicity event, so the next weeks meeting is fresh in people's mind, if held now it's 3 weeks to the season start and people forget. Yes worky has p+p next week, but it's 1 week before the pairs
