GeneralMelchett
Its not really up to anyone to decide who is a true fan or not, each to their own isn't it! Some 'true' fans baffle me by not attending very regularly, if at all, yet having their say but there you go. Lets hope Jason and Emil are able to pick up where they left off here in the UK after their injuries, I would expect a BV win here. Both sides should, if injuries avoided etc, be in the Grand final come Sept /Oct.

Arch is correct here, you simply can’t be a true fan of a club if you’re not @rsed if they win trophies or not! If that’s the case then you’re just a fan of the Sport, not any particular club. And there’s a fair few of these nowadays sadly after many have lost their clubs but still like to follow the Sport. As someone who was born and bred in Ipswich, the first thing I want is my team to be successful. As I do the football team. I also don’t understand why so many on here comment that success is meaningless. That isn’t true either is it? There may not be much monetary value in winning, but pride in winning means a hell of a lot to supporters and the professional people involved. I watched us win the KOC a couple of seasons ago, wasn’t televised and no cameras present. Emil kissing his medal and having a smile longer than the A14 told you whether it meant anything or not. Likewise Mark Lemon and the Belle Vue riders hugging just about everybody and celebrating with their supporters last September, and Simon Stead and the Sheffield riders likewise the year before. These “pointless” and “meaningless” shouts are bonkers.
Arch Stanton
Don’t expect us to win here either but we have to make a better fist of things around here. Other less strong teams have faired better than us in recent years here so it’s a bit of a head scratcher. Ben Cook was consistently good around here last year I think? Not sure what Zach’s record is like around the NSS but I suspect it’s not quite as good. That and Brennan now being in the Witches side might help us to close the gap but we’ll see. On the flip side, Ben Cook is absolutely terrible around Foxhall but Zach quite the opposite so where the overall Tie is concerned, what Belle Vue might lose around the NSS, they should make up for at Foxhall so that evens itself out really. Expecting it to be tight on aggregate.

I really cant be bother to argue over it, i think most know my team folded - when i play sport I was and still am still as competitive as everyone, but i also understand any team i 'support' have no right to win you have to earn it, getting annoyed at your team losing seems about as much use as hating a desert cos it has sand in it! When my football team lose and of late they have lost a lot it really doesn't ruin my weekend or life, it annoys me - i dont like them losing - sometimes i won't watch the highlights as I dont want to see how badly or how unlucky they might have been. But it doesnt annoy me to the point of ruining my weekend and demanding everyone be sacked or replaced or whatever. AceBelle
we hadn't won the league for 30 years but we have now twice in the last 3 years so winning it in 2017 really doesn't matter we can win it 2025 😉👍♣️🏆 Edited Friday at 01:24 PM by AceBelle
Tinker
Think it will be close but BV will win on aggregate. Ipswich seem to be everyone's favourites so the pressure will be on and I think they will ride a touch tentatively in the opening weeks. BV have not featured in the KO Cup Final for some years (I think) and will be fired up early doors.
TTT
Ipswich normally struggle around the NSS however they may catch the Aces a little cold here so I'm expecting this to be a tight meeting. Normally it takes most riders a few meetings to get back into the groove and the weather is still cold so that could have an effect on certain riders. I remember last season when Jaimon Lidsey struggled early on in the cold weather, Tate Zischke may take a few meetings to get going as he's coming back from a big injury and he's got to overcome the psychological effect of the injury that happened on the NSS track against the same team (Ipswich). As for the Witches, Jason Doyle's rebuilt himself time after time and he's always comeback stronger so I don't see why it would be any different this time around, Danny King is the only question mark for Ipswich imo. I'll side with Belle Vue to win the First Leg but lose the tie overall as I don't see how any side will even get close to Ipswich around Foxhall this year. 1st Leg -> Belle Vue 48 - 42 Ipswich 2nd Leg -> Ipswich by 14-18 Points. Pinny
I was thinking the same thing about this forum being dead lately. The winters used to be just as busy on here as the season itself. I wonder how many people from its original launch (was it 2001/2ish) still read it.

Lidsey was vocal last year about needing the weather to get warmer during his early season struggles in the cold, Zischke's returning from a big injury who's almost got no top flight experience. Reason why I'm confident in Jason Doyle hitting the ground running is because it's nothing new for him to recover from a massive injury, He's made a whole career out of it tbh. Emil Sayfutdinov rode in the Polish Ekstraliga Play-Offs last season after his Sheffield crash so nothing to worry about with him, King is the only question mark after his surgery on his hand. As for the results, I just don't see how you get close to Ipswich around Foxhall when breaking down the 1-7's. Would any of the following really happen around Foxhall? Kurtz, Bewley & Lidsey outscoring Doyle, Sayfutdinov and Brennan? Blodorn and Z. Cook outscoring Ellis and King? Zischke and Mulford outscoring D. Thompson and Jenkins? Ipswich are ahead in every department for me and quite comfortably, Around the NSS I'd side with BV 2 - 1 but only just.
