a decent meeting to watch, enjoyed it from start to finish...by far the best racing track in the league.

Bewley and Kurtz are a dominant force, but how many times have we seen Kurtz looking like a world beater but only to disappoint as the season goes on?

Brennan looked good..

Doyle and Emil, looked off of it to me.

King rode well all night.

Zischke looked a million dollars when gating but looked awful when at the back...hope not but he could be the modern day Todd Wiltshire!!

Both teams will look at the positives from the meetings, fully expecting both of them to be there or there abouts come the business end of the season.

Kurtz, err last season strong all the way through and dominant in winning the play offs and qualifying for GP.

Zischke is complete opposite of Wiltshire and it’s his gating that usually lets him down.
Got to remember he coming back from an horrific injury last year, a lot of details been kept quiet. And although he says he forgotten about it now, I think surely it will still be in the back of his mind as doesn’t look as aggressive as last year but I think after few meetings the confidence will come back hopefully.

cairns likely to be straight in come june youd imagine

The young kid is certainly a good prospect,  but I think he should think about guest bookings in the premiership before signing full time as soon as he turns 16, then next season hopefully he can be as good as people think he is gonna be

Not to mention the year when they had to get Robert lambert in.

At least he rode for the Aces in both the semi AND  the final...

Rather than helping knock out the team he rode for in the semi, in the final!!..

With neither team actually being his...:D:D

You get the sense there’s already far too much expectation on the young lad’s shoulders which isn’t fair really. As good a talent and prospect as he may be, nobody should be expecting him to come in at this level and start taking decent points from riders with far more experience. I mean he may well do, but similar expectations were thrown Boughen’s way a season or two ago. I’d let him settle in at Poole for this year and see how he gets on. Then make a decision for 2026 in the top flight based on that.

I mean, it’s possible! Doyle Emil and Brennan could all crash out of the meeting in their opening rides and Belle Vue could then jump all over it and then claim they’ve achieved the impossible with a superhuman effort! They’re very good at that.

Boo hoo stop crying

Touched a nerve has it? He’s not wrong is he.

Some have zero shame and couldn’t care less how or why they won, as long as they won. Entirely their prerogative of course. I personally would have been a little embarrassed and kept it a bit more low key but each to their own.

And before anyone pipes up with “it’s not Belle Vue’s fault they can only beat what’s in front them” I totally agree. But it’s still unsatisfying it has to be. It’s like a 100m runner at the Olympics pi$$ing it with 10 metres to go and then pulling a hamstring and you go flying past to take the gold. You wouldn’t then go on a lap of honour dancing around giving it the big un would you? Except for AceBelle obviously. Take it, admit you got away with one and move on.

If that was me winning the 100m title I wouldn't give a toss how I won it as decades of dedicated training and sacrifice had come to fruition..

Empathy for my rival, but delighted none the less..

However, comparing winning an Olympic Gold Medal to a UK Speedway domestic title victory is somewhat ridiculous...

One is at the the highest level of sporting achievement, and the other delivers minimal publicity and awareness, hardly any financial rewards, and actively allows you to bring  in a "ringer" at the end of a season...

However, after a season whereby dozens of qualifying matches for those play offs have had their own "ringers" brought in, it provides perfect synergy for me, and is 100% in keeping with what has gone before...

The year after Bomber was parachuted in for TWO different teams in the play offs...

Presumably getting a winners medal AND a losers one!!😁

By that logic Zmarzlik shouldn't celebrate winning the world title because he didn't beat Laguta or Sayfutdinov, or we could question why Bewley celebrated so much when he won at Cardiff, when he didn't defeat the best 15 riders in the world!

Everybody knows why you won it last year. You’ll need to jump on someone else’s poor luck again this time otherwise you won’t stand a cat in hells chance.

Because Belle Vue were the best team in the play-offs, weren't the strongest team throughout the season, but they didn't have to be.

They're probably not gonna be the strongest team this year either, but regardless of injuries, if they win the play-offs then they'd be deserving Champions.

I wouldn’t bother with that low life if I were you. It got a swift block when insulting my better half and saying fans like it when opposition riders get injured. Coupled with his inaccurate posts (trolling) he’s another Ipswich “fan” that needs to be avoided whilst they have their time in the sun

Ipswich were unlucky with injuries ,if you build the team around riders like Emil and Doyle, if they get injured they are irreplaceable, maybe they could of coped with one injured but both was just too much. The play offs are here to stay because they make an exciting end to the season and make a lot of money for the clubs involved. Nobody remembers the team that came top only the play off winners.

Is that morally right though. Team does hard work throughout the Season to finish TOP OF THE LEAGUE at the end of it. Then loses in the Play  Offs after two or three Meetings - it doesn't seem right to me..............

Sorry.

Sorry.

That’s a valid view to hold, however speedway is not alone in its approach. Rugby Union amongst many others adopts play offs to decide on the Premiership Champions.

Promotion to the most lucrative league (Premier League) in the world is not decided on merit going to the team who came third in the league but by play offs between third to sixth.

Broadcasters will always prefer a play off approach as it creates excitement, draws viewers and creates revenue for them. They also create revenue for those clubs participating.

I actually agree with you.

But my question was - Is it morally right?  I honestly don't believe it is.

What you are doing is robbing the Champions to make more money, if the Champions lose, "nobody remembers them" as stated earlier in tthis Thread. That's not right.
