Hawks6991
Link to a photo of the Raceway bridge being removed. Thought it might be of interest to some. I still miss Friday nights at Arena! https://www.facebook.com/100064833065454/posts/1060268559477570/?mibextid=rS40aB7S9Ucbxw6v
Ray Stadia
I saw this. And someone mentioned there is a raceway in Stansted, Essex for bangers. Any good for speedway?
Hawks6991
A good question. Can’t recall it ever being mentioned as a possible new venue. Lots of photos on the internet.
noaksey
It's pretty basic, not enough room for a separate track so would need to be shared with the cars I'd say it's worth an enquiry especially if the Rye House revival doesn't happen

Like most 'club' banger tracks, it's a dirt track in a field. Rough, bumpy surface that has never seen shale. The fence is made up of tyres embedded into the ground. Totally unsuitable for any decent level of speedway.

Did the Braintree organisers move up the road to Stansted do you know, when Braintree had to close?
Tom Thumb
There has been several looks at the Stansted site over the years but nothing ever came of it.
baxiboy
Didn’t Phil Morris mention a new track was supposed to open in a live YouTube presentation at the end of 2023 I think? I believe it was supposed to be in Northamptonshire?
