Peter Craven Memorial Trophy - NSS - 17/03/2025

Recommended Posts

Great crowd and at £28 for seating I thought it was good value considering the riders on show .
The NSS needs to improve some things ie the entrance to the grandstand with only two turnstiles open , long queues for food and drink ( we gave up because we would miss the racing ) also the PA is pretty poor where we were sitting (not unusual and some stadiums )

Having said that the whole show was slick and well presented .

The racing was processional for the first few heats or so but soon got going in the latter part of the meeting .

Well done Brady Kurtz who rode the wheels off the bike !!

Shiny …

Oh and it was bloody cold 🥶

It's called economies of scale, first of all they've got to turn a profit and will have costs to cover, content rights, staffing etc. and all that with barely anybody watching it, compared to Netflix or Opus sport, you're not comparing apples with apples.

Personally I also find £15 outrageous for a stream which is why I've never bought one and prefer to "just" watch the stuff included in the pass or attend live (which I am able to do if something takes my fancy). I've never been into the PPV single events and have never paid for any Boxing or Sky Box Office events and I can't see myself ever doing it, I don't feel as though I've missed out on anything.

OK, maybe comparing to Optus and Netflix etc is a bit irrelevant from one side of the fence but from the other , i.e the paying customer, its not. Are many going to fork out 15 quid for a one off meeting watching on a tv/computer? I did purely out of boredom and being able to afford to but plenty would of looked at the pricing and said no chance.

I think if the overall presentation was improved then around 10 quid would of been fair enough.

It would be interesting to see if the viewing figures for last night stacked up well or not for the fee charged, of course we will never know.

I pay for the full service which I think is very good value and payed for last nights extra because I treated like a meeting I could never make, starved of speedway, looked an ok deal for me but understand at that price not for all..

I would assume by now BSN have done enough of these PCM, Ben Funds and rider testimonials to know their audience figures at said price will cover costs, offer the host track or rider some return and also generate a small profit.

Personally I dont see how anyone can complain at the the price charged.....considering it was 28 quid to get in plus fuel to get there. An entire family can watch the meeting in the warmth of their home at around 10% of what it would have cost the for the whole family to attend in person.

The question to be asking is not if the viewing figures stacked up but how many customers stay at home and watch BSN's coverage because it offers far more value for money than attending in person.

£14.99 was a very fair price to watch the meeting on BSN, If you went to the meeting then you'd pay that money just for parking, programme and something to eat/drink.

Don't forget that Sky/TNT charge £20+ to watch high profile boxing matches.

Sixty quid spent on Monday for me and my lad to get in..

If there had been any likelihood of rain, I would have paid for the stream..

Very good value for money for those who decide not to attend in person due to weather concerns or distance to travel .

I will definitely be using the stream in future for any other "big meetings" they cover away from the NSS...
