So, with the basic plan will I still be able to watch live premiership meetings?  If so, why would I need TNT?

There is no sport coverage on discovery + from 28th Feb unless you upgrade to TNT through sky I to have sky q and I asked sky it's the only way through sky q

You'll need premium plan.  This will help explain - discovery+ plans and prices

Ok thanks Noodles, have read that and don't think I'll be paying out monthly for that - will select some BSN meetings and watch updates instead.

If you contact Discovery Plus via their chat they will offer you 7 months Premium (incl. TNT Sports) for £15.49 a month.  It is a 1 month rolling contract so just cancel once your 7 months is up.  You must redeem the code before 28th March but don't redeem before 5th March otherwise you will miss Speedway of Nations.

Alternatively DMAX (EE/YouView/TalkTalk/freeview channel 39, Sky 159, Virgin 169, Freesat 147) will show highlights from every round of Speedway Grand Prix and British Premiership Speedway.

I hope this helps.

Speedway along with winter sport will be disappearing from my screen as I am not paying an additional £30 a month on top of all the other tv related cost that I have.

I agree.  Having lost Swindon a few years ago, the only speedway for me has been on Eurosport/Discovery+ which I have enjoyed.  I have absolutely no intention of spending £30 a month on top of my current Sky subscription to purchase additional sports from TNT only one of which I am interested in watching.

Me neither.

Reports today suggest that Eurosport will disappear from screens in the UK as a result of a merger coming into place from February 28. Major UK sports channel set to be AXED from British TV screens after 35 years of broadcasting | Daily Mail Online

So the answer to your original question and title of this thread "Will speedway disappear from TV following Eurosport merger? is no.

Not really sure if I'm right, but think I am,, in the majority speedway is most people's second or third sport,, so are not willing to pay the extra,, as they already pay a large amount for their main sport,, probably football on a different package.

I don’t know about anyone else but no I don’t have any other sports package. I just refuse to spend anymore of my disposable income on the box in the corner. It’s getting out of hand.

Middle of the road sky with Netflix plus Apple TV & Disney is plenty of expense on top of the tv licence fee.

I think the best idea with the streamers (Disney, Apple, Paramount, Discovery etc) is to hop from one to the other and just binge what you want to watch then move to the next, you then free up some money for the channels that carry live sports, Sky, TNT and to a lesser extent Amazon. It's a bit of admin, but no point continuously paying out for stuff that's always going to be available.
