Which speedway riders have been decorated? I can think of Ronnie Moore, Barry Briggs, Ivan Mauger, Peter Collins and Kelvin Tatum off hand. All MBEs I believe. Any others?

No actually a speedway rider, but involved in speedway - Ronnie Russell got some prestigious award off the queen.Ā

There's been a few mayor's receptions down the years for winning teams... not sure if anybody has received the freedom of a city?

Tedious waste of time, the only council meetings I ever missed. Main purpose is so Peter Soulsby (or local equivalent) can get photographed with Gary Lineker or David Attenborough.

Did you ever attend any meetings at the old Greyhound Stadium?

Plenty Jason Crump was the master around there šŸ˜œ and we never had a blank canvas to design the place but when we did have a blank canvas we certainly got it right and with decent lightingĀ šŸ¤£ go and change the light bulbs now please šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Well the honours system is completely outdated, no longer appropriate and a relic of long-gone days when Britain had an Empire.Ā

Hopefully this has provided a bit of harmless amusement, whilst we wait for Birmingham and Oxford to finalise their teams.

Maybe like Geoffrey Boycott until the foolish Theresa May (confirming what a joke the system is) actually awarded him one, Chris Harris could just become popularly called "Sir Bomber"

but who also won multiple wc's and helped revolutionise team gb and turn it into a winning sideĀ

He's also a bit of a "thug" who has very little respect for others,he is just one of several successful sportsmen who show total disregard for the rules & the people involved in the sport that gives them their living.

Ronnie O'sullivan & Max Verstappen are two more examples.
