I cant believe "Round the Boards", "Norbold", "Haza" and "ch958."

Firstly the accusation of Wimbledon is your version only and you use the platform to sink the Mildenhall project, so sad.

In 1999 he and a friend relaunched Rye House without a home and from that success Rye House returned to Hoddesdon and ran for 18 years.

He got closer to re-launching Norwich than anyone is 61 years

He had already got Mildenhall back before and it was not him who closed it

Kent Kings closed in 2022 and guess who not only reopened it, yes your nemesis Steve Ribbons, they played to crowds as big as 750 for 3rd division racing, it was so successful that Eastbourne are now running a league team at the venue. Oh and he was so bad at Iwade that a number of the staff have offered their help at Mildenhall 2025.

If you all have personal issues with Mr Ribbons take it up with him DONT come on here with the intention to scuppering the ONLY hope Mildenhall have of returning to racing or prehaps you plan to reopen it yourselves?

Not sure how asking if Mr Ribbons was connected to the return of speedway to Norwich is scuppering Mildenhall  return to the track action ? I was just asking basically if it was the same person that’s all - I certainly don’t have any personal issues with Mr Ribbons I wish Mildenhall well and hope they do return this coming season .

This a Mildenhall 2025 potential return topic.

So why not just stick to the actual subject.

Stop deviating and get behind the actual potential return of a speedway track and embrace it.

If Steve Ribbons was doing this as a personal venture then yes whatever his previous experience/ventures were would be irrelevant as everyone would just be hoping he succeeds in reopening.

The reason it is relevant, just in my opinion, is because you are asking us to put our money in to fund it. I think it’s valid to know who’s going to be using the money and whether it’s going to be used correctly rather than just chucking money over the fence to a stranger.

I was initially interested in making a pledge but to be honest the track issues have made me nervous, now you are raising money just to pay the league bond but then having to get a loan to pay for the air fence, does that make all pledgers liable for the loan if they are shareholders, and surely it’s a lost cause for entering any national league competitions this season as it was reported that the deadline to have everything signed off to enter the national trophy was 15th March, however it’s stated that the foam fence would take 2 months to deliver once ordered ….. and they don’t yet have the funds to order it.

I’m not trying to be negative and I think it’s really important that we try to get as many tracks running as possible and wish nothing but best wishes and support to this project, but I think it’s only fair that people have valid questions and concerns given the fact this is going to be a fan funded project.

If as you say you have valid questions, you should ask them directly and not on a public forum like this.

This is a discussion forum is it not?

A discussion forum - Yes.  But not a place where valid questions be asked of Mr Ribbns and his team.

Just my opinion

That makes no sense.

If shares in this venture are being offered publicly to members of the public, why shouldn't those members of the public discuss things on a public forum?

If someone doesn't want public information available to the public, that makes me immediately wonder what it is that  they want to hide?

I suggest that anyone with any interest how the Mildenhall Speedway Supporter CIC has to operate take a look at what is required by visiting Community Interest Companies Guidance - GOV.UK

Everything is very clear on what can and cannot be done.

I took time to read and follow certain FAQ and found out what I needed without bothering anyone.

All the money is for the public record so no need to fear your money will be accountable.

"edmon" is right, take any grievances up with Mr Ribbons direct, what you are doing is falsely causing concern for others.

The other option is put you hand in your own pocket and launch it yourselves. I await your offers.

Still waiting !!

Just like the Wimbledon venture which failed after a few months, leaving people like @norbold owed considerable amounts of money?

I dont know your story and often there are two sides and we only read your version but you persisting your vendetta from 20 years ago on a website which is about the fans getting their team back is sad of you or maybe if this project fails then maybe you at least will be happy.

Please stick on this forum to helping get Mildenhall speedway back

Any news on developments?

Speedway star says today the the deadline has passed for mildenhall to join the NDL trophy but the door is still open for 6-8 open meetings providing they can sort out a safety fence and other protection from the new stock car fence

Just posted on the official British Speedway web site.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT: MILDENHALL SPEEDWAY

Thursday, March 20, 2025

BRITISH Speedway Promoters Ltd can confirm with regret that Mildenhall will be unable to compete in the 2025 season.

The Fen Tigers, who did not race last year, were hoping to make a late entry into the National Development Trophy competition with a Community Trust model set up to operate at West Row.

An SCB track inspection took place last month, with the club being advised of revisions which would be required to their air barrier arrangements in order to meet safety standards.

Unfortunately, with the deadline to stage British Speedway events of March 15 having passed, it means Mildenhall will not be involved in official competition in 2025.

However, the BSP will continue to support the club’s ongoing efforts to get the stadium ready for the 2026 season and, subject to obtaining an SCB track licence, Mildenhall will be warmly encouraged to stage events at Amateur level later this year.

We are very keen to see the sport resurrected at West Row and will continue to support the club in their endeavours.
