It would be nice if we could get a few more people to commit their support (and money) to the project. I really hope that all the fans that pledged to finanancially donate, actually do that. I pledged my support at the meeting and will donate  as soon as I get the details. There has been a lot of effort being put in to getting this unique project off the ground, its never been done before and it will be great if it succeeds.

Wow, those pictures look pretty foreboding.

Will have to be one hell of a safety fence to overcome requirements and no doubt it will be expensive.

Hope all goes well for the return irrespective of the new obstacle.

The track, with those RSJ uprights, looks unsafe for car drivers! Ridiculous! What are they thinking?

Wasn't there a similar wall and posts in place before?

Steve has quoted on the website “as we had not been to the speedway stadium for a month, we were slightly taken aback by the solidity of the new Stock Car fence”.

it does seem surprising to say that they had not been to the track for a month.  Am I the only one who feels that if you have gone to all of this effort to return speedway, you would have visited the site regularly.  I am not criticising him and I hope speedway returns to Mildenhall, but this does appear to be a major over site, unless he was given reassurances.

I really hope that Mildenhall managed to get the issues sorted.

The concrete is probably an improvement on the previous rippled armco in regards to rider safety but those RSJ's look lethal. Padded jackets or not they are immovable structures that look like they could have scary consequences.

Has nobody seen the concrete wall at scunthorpe.  They hang the pit gate on it.

New air barrier and extensive padding for the RSJ's and concrete wall sounds like an incredibly expensive but necessary requirement.

I note the reference to a foam barrier at Lynn, is that the actual air fence or the protection underneath it?
