Bakersfield is 100 miles north of the current fires. It may be a problem for some of those involved in the fixture, but with a substantial distance and very little vegetation the venue itself should be OK. wukky
Just seen the schedule for this, there are far too many ‘support races’ in-between the main 15 heats. 9 heats in fact, it’s always the same over there, the main meeting loses flow

Bavarian
In any recognized team sport there are official records of international caps. This is part and parcel of the game, and in this respect speedway used to be no different to any other team sport. Peter Oakes always included the number of international caps for each rider in his Yearbooks. It would be interesting to know the numbers for our current riders, but sadly I could not find out. Where are they to be found? I wonder if there is still someone out there who keeps record of the speedway riders' international caps? Too bad, if nowadays no one cares about it.

Unfortunately your last line says it all......and to me, a collector of Test Match programmes dating back to 1928, a crying shame. Why no Test Matches again this year? We have so many foreign riders here, surely we can pick a day for a Test match somewhere? Oh well, I'll go away for another year I suppose!!!! Sadly!! 2

You could easily do a 3 match Test Series against the Aussies before Poland starts . Glasgow, The NSS and Poole (or Ipswich), would guarantee very decent crowds.. And start the domestic season off with a bit of publicity off the back of it .
