Interesting development? The two day final in Amsterdam has constantly been criticised over the years although I enjoyed the event as it gave you two days in Amsterdam enjoying the sites. Obviously people now accept the idea of a two day event albeit within a GP series?

When I first heard Belle Vue was going to also host a GP round, I thought, that's great for GB speedway, 2 venues in one year! Now, what do I think? I think it could be a disaster, from an attendance point of view. Also, how do fans choose between day 1 and day 2? Or are the organisers expecting fans to attend day 1 and 2? I doubt a huge number could.

to be fair doesn't have to be a huge number, BV can only hold so many. I think attending both days is going to be popular, Manchester is easy commute for much of the north and midlands. We'll see

Due to the capacity limit I would confidently expect both days to be sold out. Need to hit those hotels before they catch on. As Cardiff did after the first few years. One of the major reasons so many stopped going.

Parklife is on in Manchester that weekend so hotels are already pricey

It’s a sad day for UK speedway & a measure of how the sport is failing over here. The attendance has been poor since Covid & to be honest embarrassing when on live tv so probably the right decision.

thought the poor crowds at the SON looked worse. Always enjoyed Cardiff weekend especially when the Pairs were held at Somerset on the Friday.

You have to wonder with the CL pairs not being in the fixture list prior to the cancelled Cardiff GP date, how long ago this need was known about 🤔

It was a great annual brothers weekend. Somerset pairs followed by Cardiff GP (also Welsh open at Newport on Sunday). It was great walking through Cardiff and all was Speedway. Great times.

I think Belle Vue (Manchester) will do a fine job weather permitting.

I think 2 GP's in 2 days is probably a reflection sadly of how to make the event more viable, as the reality is the Sport only appeals to Speedway Fans.

It also provides a backup plan should it rain.

Undoubtedly the track is conducive to Racing and therefore you know it will be an entertaining GP if it is dry.

Personally think it will be interesting to see what happens in the future.

£80 ticket for both days, 5000 crowd..

£400k...

Worth a punt I would say...

I see Wroclaw Main Stand seats for their GP on 30 August are 499 Zloty (around £110), but their back straight prices are considerably cheaper at  around £30.

These days people would complain about a Wembley final.    Wembley has no roof and it always rains in London.   Also there's nothing to do around Wembley and it's too far from London, so you can't walk it from Buckingham Palace or Downing Street.

Plenty to do around wembley these days, loads of bars, cafes, shops etc

Bit of stretch to compare  Amsterdam with Manchester.

Admitted both cities have trams ... but there the similarity ends.
