Hope your a man city fan and have a great christmas Two cathedral's but no speedway track.... And no one noticed the city had been bombed until 1965....
PersonalResponsibility
It's probably reached a natural end, but the way it's been dealt with is abysmal. I'm sure the usual suspect will be along soon to chastise those who've booked non-refundable accommodation, but that was a big attraction of Cardiff: it would never be rained off. Whatever your thoughts are of the whole event, there are now unhappy speedway fans who have lost money on hotels, and maybe some who won't bother as much with speedway. WBD have been an unmitigated disaster.

Not rained off, but it was very nearly cancelled/abandoned a few years back due to track conditions. Your final comment succinctly hits the nail on the head though. My apologies I forget about the German and Danish ones what I meant to say was that WBD are not event promotors . They do however still have some very good ideas and plans on how to move the series forward with further progress made on possibly having a London GP if all the logistics and arena availability was to fall into place for another year

old bob at herne bay
Dwindling number of UK tracks= fewer UK speedway supporters. So many supporters “lost “ by track closures in vast swathes of England. Some retain an interest to follow the sport on social media and TV , but travelling hundreds of miles year after year to shell out hundreds of pounds for tix and hotels to watch riders who mean diddly squat to them ? Not likely. Still if EVERY Belle Vue supporter turned up to support Danny Beaulieu …guess that might be 1000 … So deluded ace Belle………seems WBD confirm that they have record numbers viewing on platforms …….rather confirms my belief that fans are not willing / able to travel to these events in the UK . 50,000 attendance in Poland was stated. No mention offs of attendance in Caerdydd . 5.000 maybe?

JamesHarris
Probably not a popular opinion but I've thought for a while now that the speeds of the modern speedway bike are no longer suited to Cardiff and any of the other indoor tracks. The circuits are just too small and tight. I'm sure Hancock said in an interview this year that you have to have a separate bike set up just for these tracks. The indoor stadium tracks are all about prestige and putting speedway in the limelight I suppose but just stick to proper circuits. I've been to Cardiff a couple of times and it was more about the atmosphere than the racing. Had some good times but I think the time is right to move the GP elsewhere though I do think a double header at Belle Vue is stupid.

There was way more than 5000, I would have said around 20000.
