Utter rubbish, their costs are a 1/4 of Cardiff, if they were selling Cardiff tickets for £20 then the CAN sell belle vue for that but they won’t

Speaketh a man with decades of experience of organising international sporting events.

Or perhaps not?

Manchester Airport much easier from Poland than Cardiff Airport. That’s where most of the fans come from. The few British fans are all Northern/Midlands based so easier travel. Cardiff was an odd choice, no speedway in the country, and very few decent speedway riders , unless you go back to the Williams brothers ! Oh and Phil Morris 🙂

Thought Danny Bewdley came from Cumbrian tbh?

This is what happens when your world championship is full of crap riders.

Artem and Emil's absence is felt in my heart.

The FIM are learning a valuable lesson.

Go woke, go broke.

Woke has killed off the Cardiff Speedway GP?  I've heard it all now 😄

It's a sad, but inevitable end. And there's loads of reasons for it. I suspect the event has been propped up beyond it's natural lifespan from public sector funding in Wales. And that's not sustainable. Cost of living is a factor in this....people simply have less disposable income over the last decade. High energy prices mean that running major facilities...even your local pool...has rocketed and these costs have to be passed on.

But the biggest reason is that British Speedway as a whole is on its *rse. The fan base is shrinking, ageing and ultimately dying....and without that hardcore of supporters, any big event in the UK will struggle.

It was always a fabulous day out, it's the end of era, but I will always have some great, great memories from Cardiff.

What about fans who have pre paid for a Cardiff hotel

Tough titty lol You will still be able to cancel unless you have not taken out insurance or paid up front for a cheaper price.

I just love the spin in the Headlines..rather than the doom and gloom and the disaster of losing the biggest day of the year in UK speedway its dress up as a great positive that we 2 GPS in a normal speedway track.

Well Belle Vue need to learn their lesson from overpriced temp stands on their last outing. It is easier for Polish fans to travel via Manchester airport correct, but Polish fans won't pay £60+ for this event. They have premium stands and multiple SGPs in Poland, Cardiff was an experience, Belle Vue isn't. I went with my Polish GF to both SON Belle Vue and Cardiff last year. The difference in her experience was telling, indoors was amazing and a nice city to walk around, Manchester, well...

Another consideration is how many fans will do the two meetings or will select just one?  For example where Clubs or Tour Operators offer trips they are not going to do both days without incorporating an overnight stay.

For example Poole or Plymouth are not going to run a coach for both days.

Also, how much is it costing Warner Bros to cancel Cardiff? I presume the WFU will want compensation?
