Wouldn't most clubs illustrate an article, revealing a team of young riders, with a photo of one of the young riders?  After all, they're the important ones.  Maybe the No.1 or skipper?

When the team manager announces one day that he’s  “going to make an announcement so standby” the next day , it says a lot about his ego but he must have something about him as he keeps getting a role somewhere even if it’s 4 hours away from his home town club.

Sad to see that this new ‘development’ league to help bring lads on now sees two riders in this team who will be trebling up.

If there good enough for the championship and can average nearly five points in it, this league shouldn’t be for them but I know I’ll just get told “it’s valuable track time “. Doubling up is bad enough but this is seriously getting ridiculous.

oh well, it’s only for 8 matches, good luck with the fixture planning.

Maybe we should have these confirmed managerial signings on the "2025 confirmed signings" thread?

Then the Clerks of the Course and the tea-lady?

It would give us chance to start more interesting winter rumours like "My good sources say Simon Stead leaves Sheffield management job to become Kent tealady"

Not a pop at all,  I just believe your boy is too good to race against newbies and part time second strings. Ive heard you say “its all about track time “ so knew your thoughts. Im against doubling up , as thats lost the sport any credibility, so trebling up is just plain wrong.

Can't say I disagree but the league needs heat leaders and they are of limited numbers . Personally wouldn't say he's to good and do believe the additional meetings will help his progress.

Well chuffed with that. Especially delighted to see Cooper Rushen, Jody Scott & Luke Harrison lineup for the Stars.

yep quite agree its an exciting prospect and great to see the young stars back although would prefer them to be the starlets as they were in the 80s & 90s

Luke has just had his 1st year of CL racing & his 2nd at NDL level.

Joe Thompson should not have been trebling up this last year.

Who are the 2 riders?

Based on his Championship average, you could argue Harrison is too good for the NL, but based on his NDL average, he clearly didn't dominate the division, so there is development in him as he chases a 10+ average.

Riders like Ablitt, Foord & Pijper are similar, their Champ averages would lead you to believe their NDL aves should be far higher.

To explain Luke's national league average and how it is at the 7.7 level. During last season we used every national league meeting trying different stuff with set ups to learn what did and didn't work. It was never about winning it was about learning. We know that the bike used at scunny in the national league (which is not his championship bike) doesn't work at Sheffield. We know the scunny championship bike isn't great at Oxford but the national league bike is way better. The scunny championship bike goes well round Sheffield it was all a set process to help his development which we believe worked out looking back over the season. Even at scunny for national league we used different settings on the bike as both meetings were second half's of double headers and we know now have a good grasp of our equipment and what bikes do on different tracks

hope this makes sense

Ps his name is Luke not Harrison
