Fortythirtyeight
Dont get too excited too soon, lot of rumours about discontent in this NDL 2 set up . It certainly doesnt make sense geography wise when Workingtons neighbours, Edinburgh , Redcar and Sheff/Scuny dont have to travel to Plymouth , Kent or Kings Lynn in mid week for a meaningless development fixture. Surely a north south split would have been more sensible and might even attract fans to travel.

Ooh this could get really messy, especially if riders are signed and then a switch to a potential north/south split occurs. North - Edinburgh, Workington, Middlesborough, Belle Vue & Scuffield South - Oxford, Leicester, Birmingham, Kent & Plymouth (can't see Kings Lynn bothering if its a 5 way split) North looks ok and would open a path for Glasgow to join 2026 but South would be nervous with 2 only established teams and the others re-joining this year and Plymouths reputation of NL hokey cokey might make future seasons less viable......that said when has Speedway ever planned for the future.

Surely if teams weren't happy with the situation it would've been sorted before announcing the new competitions? Ps why is the King's Lynn match a "meaningless development fixture". So rules / agreements have never been changed in speedway before ? Well it cant be taken very seriously with only 4/5 teams in it and the riders all riding for other clubs who probably take priority on any clashes as will any championship call ups but lets hope all is rosey in the speedway garden and its better run than the rest of the sport.

Neila
As far as I can see their are going to be a development league and a development trophy competition. Workington along with the 4 southern teams Plymouth Kent Birmingham and King's Lynn will be in trophy. Which for worky is a he'll of a lot of travelling for mostly young kids, same for the other teams. The 6 other teams will be in the NDL. Unless something has changed since it was announced 2 weeks ago

HGould
VJF signing for Kent though logical due to his roots suggests to me that Workington wont be in the declared "Trophy" league. If Worky have a home match on a Saturday why would VJF consign himself to being in Kent by noon the next day? Suggests that Worky will be in NDL allowing VJF to ride for Worky in the NDL and Kent in the Trophy

Besides, as there's so few fixtures in the Champ & NT, that may not happen very often.

If as many are suggesting Worky move to the more northerly based NDL and someone else moves in the the Trophy or they just leave that as 4 Clubs then YES, I'd expect VJF to ride NDL for Worky and NDLT for Kent. Won't be happening in 2025 that's why there's a NDL Trophy Competition the original six NDL Clubs couldn't/wouldn't do more meetings.
