See nothing wrong with them being called the Steelers. If you followed ice hockey you would understand. Sheffield Steelers are the most hated hockey team in the country and it's not even a contest. Either way I think one nickname is the right choice and it does make sense for 2 steel towns. Just joking that the name 'Sheffield Steelers' is just wrong š¤£ being a bigger hockey fan than a speedway fan.
RS50
Just seen on Facebook that Nathan Ablitt will replace Luke Muff. Makes a stronger team, but would have thought it takes them over the points limit. Anyone have any further information on this?

The social media post notes that Ablitt will be no.1 which would mean it has to be Roynon making way also, one would presume.Ā
szkocjasid
It's very confusing, because if you read the article, sounds like Ablitt for Muff was a straight swap. But that doesn't fit! Edited April 1 by szkocjasid

RS50
Very disappointing that no official confirmation is on club website , and just checked BSPL website for declared riders, which still shows Muff in the team. With it being posted yesterday, was it an April fool prank?

RS50
STEELERS RACE JACKETS FOR SALEš² Ā At the end of the season, we will be selling the Steelers race jackets for Ā£100 each. secsy1
SCB REGULATIONS 2025 013.1.1 Rider Match Averages and Gradings Riders in the National League and National Trophy competitions must hold an ACU licence, SCB Registration and a British Passport. A team may include 1 rider who has previously achieved an MA above 4.00 to a maximum of 6.00 (inclusive) in the Championship League (prior to the 2024 season) who is not declared in a Championship or Premiership Team Declaration. If that rider is then declared in a Championship or Premiership Team Declaration the NDL/NDT club will have 28 days to replace that rider from the date of the Championship/Premiership declaration. New riders with a British Passport will enter the NDL and/or NDT on a 3.00 MA. A riders MA will be based upon their latest (attained during the 2022 - 2024 only) NDL or Championship MA (multiplied by 2 and subject to the minimum/maximum converted MAās being 3.00/12.00). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Potentially with Luke Harris not riding between these years a newly assessed average could explain it how Nathan Ablitt can be fitted into the team? Who knows and if you do please let everyone know?Ā

Who knows and if you do please let everyone know?Ā Adam Roynon has previously averaged above 6.00 in the Champ, does that not mean he's ineligible? Looking at how it was originally written when they announced the ruling Roynon is eligible. Any rider who previously (prior to the 2024 season) had achieved a 4.00 average in the Championship, and currently has a Championship average of below 6.00, and are not declared in a Championship or Premiership declaration would be eligible for the National League / Trophy in the 2025 season. No wonder fans easily get confused if the people in charge post differently worded rulings, which mean two different things! szkocjasid
Adam Roynon rode ONE match in the Champ last year, but didn't ride in the National league. Maybe they're using double his Champ ave as his "most recent average". That leaves 4.42 for Harris is he's been reassessed? SteelersĀ Nathan Ablitt 8.33 Luke Harrison 7.66 Adam Roynon 7.10 Mickie Simpson 4.49 Luke Harris (4.42 remaining) Jamie Etherington 3.00 Harrison Rogers 3.00 Total 38.
