Maybe he thought he had a team place elsewhere that didn't come off? Just felt an odd choice of wording to me?
mac101
Quite a few riders get offers from many teams some say yes to the first and knock back other offers then weeks later there told sorry couldn’t fit you in and left without a team

Think that will become clear enough in time. Im delighted for him that he has a team place and will be ecstatic about it but the skill set is way below the other six. Ultimately potentially could have gone elsewhere but thought his Kent spot was assured. What happens for him now who knows as securing equipment for the start of a season is far easier than mid way. That's correct, he turned down offers from two other clubs before being told he wasn't in the Kent team.

What you've said makes far more sense, I couldn't understand why it was unfortunate if he'd turned down Kent twice. It's a real shame for him. If I was a Speedway rider, I'd want a signed contract before turning down another club.
