szkocjasid
Given the league is weaker again, I think this looks a pretty decent team. Has the benefit of the reserves having actual averages above 3, so can expect points all through the team. Tom Spencer 7.22 Ace Pijper 6.44 Danny Phillips 6.33 Jamie Halder 5.08 Stene Pijper 4.82 Ben Rathbone 3.80 Kai Ward 3.58 Total 37.27

Phillips and Halder and just enjoying the latter years. Ben Rathbone promised much and thus far ahs delivered little. Don't think much of Ace or ward but Stene has a bit of something about him. safe to say im glad its not my local side as i personally couldn't get behind that team.

A weaker league should mean other number 1’s have moved up so he could well be a fine no.1. This is a DEVELOPMENT league so it isn't ALL about winning. You certainly can have your own opinion but mine is you aren't very clued up on the individuals concerned , Phillips is still in his 20’s! , and Im very glad you’re not local. This isn't the m o of Leicester or belle vue in this league as they build teams to win at all costs every season if possible.

I like Tom but his away form was average for Leicester and was often riding in the easier positions, not sure it will be confidence boosting for him if he scrapes 6 in NDL fixtures however.....because he is doubling up he hopefully will have the extra track time and setup tips to help with that. Phillips is just in his 20's but sadly hasn't been the same since his nasty crash at Mildenhall. Same as Halder really, every time he gets going he takes a tumble and sets himself back. Will be interesting to see how many take places in both Development competitions?

Can't really think of a team less "win at all costs" than Belle Vue. They seems to bring in a young 3 point newcomer every year. The only time they won the league was when the upcoming youngster was Dan Bewley.

Exactly….this is the same attitude that killed Buxton off.

Do you think a massive club like belle vue would waste money on electricity, water etc etc just to make the numbers up and give young riders a chance of getting track time for no reward at the end of the season? Its supposed to be a development league, the ‘winnings’ should be potential riders for the future, not a shiny £10 trophy and a picture in the Star. If clubs stuck to the principles and the recommended pay rates , there wouldn't be a ‘them and us’ attitude and clubs like Buxton , Mildenhall and even the Isle if Wight may still be running in the NDL but some clubs, and we all know who, have a win at all costs attitude and do what they want and not necessarily whats best for the sport. This coming season will see very few new faces in the league, just a couple of lads turning 15 will be about it as there has been precious little new riders taking up the sport. Attitudes need to change , more effort made to get kids on bikes, make the sport cheaper and not dearer as the new regs are doing or there wont be a future. There will always be winners and losers but at this level, it doesn't really matter !

I don't think they'd waste money trying to win a tin pot 3rd division title for no gain. That would be pointless. I do think they'd invest in trying to find new young British assets like Dan Bewley. That makes business sense.
