Middlesbrough Tigers 2025

Recommended Posts

Well the Tigers are confirmed for 2025 so let’s start the guessing game on the team.

Trigger has announced he isn’t in it, Don’t expect Mulford to be in the NDL and Hocanuik has retired already and I doubt Ward will reappear as he has possible options closer to his home.

That leaves local lad Phillips as the no.1 elect. Rathbone might fancy the Workington option as he lives there but could double up with just Jamie Halder remaining.

The NJL side doesn’t have any immediate replacement as Katie Gordon was rarely seen last season after being announced as the no.8 and young McTear isnt upto speed yet.

Kyran Lyden is an obvious choice as a Middlesbrough lad but I’m told he doesn’t seem to be in favour having chosen to ride at Edinburgh.

Luke Muff was a regular in the second halfs and he would certainly liven the pits up.

Former Cub Laylen Richardson although a Workington lad might fancy this NDL - Trophy doubling up ?

Theres a lad up the road, Oliie Booth, but he doesn’t seem to ride much at Redcar .

Elliot Kelly to reappear ?

After that I’m struggling for names although the Bears reserve(s) might feature ?

Any suggestions KK62 ?

I hadn’t noticed that announcement by Trigger. Are we expecting him to move elsewhere as surely he’s not ready for the Championship only?

I think we will see riders losing out on development spots, not because they are ready, but because of the points limit.

Remember last year, Max Perry was going to be Champ only until they changed the rules.

His Dad put on Facebook that he didn’t have a team in the championship or NDL , which is incredible as I thought he was a good prospect . I think his point scoring proves he is ready for a championship reserve spot, he’s too good for NDL only.

Sadly his point scoring could be what's stopping him getting a team spot, there will be weaker riders than him getting team spots because they have 2 point averages.

A rider missing out on a team spot can often me it was because they were "too good" the previous season - only in Speedway!
