a4poster
I have noted the new heat format for the SGP in 2025 with the inclusion of the last chance qualifiers (LC1 & LC2). My question relates to the following, after 20 heats I realise the top two go straight through to the final, but of the remaining riders from 3 down to 10 go in which heats. From here the two winners go into the final (Heat 23) to join the top two from the qualifying heats but which winner of (LC) qualifiers get the third and fourth pick of gate positions in the final. Subsequently, how are the third and fourth place riders from these heats placed in the final standings? For example, which of the two third and two fourth placed finishers are placed higher in the final standings. Can anyone explain or point me in the direction of the rules. The old format had a handy *.pdf you could download showing all the details. Thanks in advance.
Gambo
The Regs have not been published yet. After the Cardiff 'difficulties' with a 5 rider tie, I think they might go with Race Times as a decider between Riders with identical points/places. If so, it throws up the scenario where Rider A (2-2-2-0-2) has a last place time faster than any of Rider B's 2nd place times. (2-0-2-2-2), so all 4 race times will need to be logged for each heat for reference. Edited November 29 by Gambo

The 5 rider tie at Cardiff was only a problem due to their stupidity in not taking the head to head results between them. surely after 20 heats they need to classify the riders from 1-16 LC 1 should be 3, 6, 8, 9 LC 2 should be 4, 5, 7, 10 points for 2nd,3rd and 4th in LC semi’s will be done on higher ranking after 20 heats( if both finish race etc etc)

I'm sure it'll be the same as this year, with 2nds, 3rds & 4ths ranked by points then most 3,2,1,0s followed by who heat who, then 2024 ranking. I do feel it's a very unnecessary rule, can't see why they don't just count the heat points from the non-finalists? If 4 riders finish on 4 points, why can't they all get 4 GP points? bruno
So a rider who as a rubbish meeting and finishes 10th can win the meeting, likewise a rider who finishes 3rd after 20 heats can end up with the points for finishing 9th I'm guessing. Not sure il bother watching next year

Do you know ? The sensible thing would be as i said yesterday.

I have made enquiries with Graham, Mike and Krister to see if they can get confirmation, before I make it available to purchase.
