Not sure about Lynn’s as haven’t looked. The Lynn away meeting at Ipswich, yes. There is no mention of the reverse fixture as a ‘double header’. Don’t always produce the best of racing strip particularly in the summer but the extra numbers and atmosphere make it a great occasion. Looking forward to the East Anglian derby on May bank Holiday. Lynn having a more competitive side this year will add to the interest. Will be a bumper Foxhall crowd that’s for sure. Apologies - I did misread your post and thought you meant a Bank Holiday double header. Please excuse my ignorance
siggysigalos
We are nearly into February, and Speedway gets ever closer, and i simply can't wait. Team building has been somewhat interesting, and there are a lot of If's and Maybe's, especially with a few new riders coming over, and a few movers from last season. Bit awkward predicting my team to win it, but Ipswich would surely be most people's favourites ( Minus Injuries of course), that bit's easy, but we all know what happened last season, so anything is possible. On the rest, Irrelevant of me being an Ipswich fan, i don't see Belle Vue retaining their title, or making the final, big season for Kurtz in the GP's, he will certainly be concentrating on that and Poland before he worries about the UK, and i agree with most Zach is no Ben. So Play Offs yes.....Nothing after that, although they could win the KO Cup, as they ride Ipswich right at the start of the season, and to be fair, those meetings could be a lottery. Sheffield will rely heavilly on the big 3, but Picko and Rowe could be key, especially around Owlerton, and for me i see them Again as Ipswich's main challengers. Final Play Off Place is anybody's for me apart from Oxford....Lynn...They lack an out and out Heat leader, will go very well at home, and start as slight favs out of the rest for top 4..... Lawson and Kvech the key there this season, and definetly not Harris. For me Leicester and Birmingham are a real unknown, just don't know what to expect, i hope Birmingham and Keynan Rew do well, i think we will know much more about them around Mid May, it's just a bag of Allsorts. Leicester are the team i want to make top 4, but Lawson is a big loss for them, and when Fricke goes missing (as he does...often)i worry that Howarth is No Lawson and Douglas,Masters and Becker have to start the season well, if they don't Leicester could finish 6th, but for me id love to see them back in the Top 4, as i aim to do many visits again to Leicester this season, love the crowd and the Atmosphere at Leicester, but boring as it sounds, could be 4th,5th or 6th. Oxford....Another track i will do a few times this season, and that is based on the friendly crowd, enjoyed all 3 visits last season......But, None of us know the ins and outs of their Team Building, but huge pressure on Janowski, Tungate and the returning Kildermand, and a massive season for Riss, he and Charles Wright really do have to up their game away from home, as i fear some big defeats on the road if they dont. Gusts is interesting, and looking forward to watching him in the UK and Killeen will definetly get better, but i just feel they have come up to short, i hope i'm wrong but i do fear the wooden spoon for the Spires. But how great it is we have 7 Teams going to tapes, we all knew Poole and Ford would back out of the Cup, biggest betting certainty in all Sport for 2025 that one, but we all now need to dust ourselves down coz the season isn't far away, and for us who have got teams to follow, let's not forget those Wolverhampton, Peterborough, Swindon, Coventry Supporters who still wait for the smallest bit of positive news on their tracks coming back to tapes in the Prem. Wouldn't it be great if just 1 of those returned, but fingers crossed more than 1 comes back. See you all in March,Iversen's Testimonial and the Ben Fund Bonanza will be my 1st taste of Speedway in 2025......And it can't come quick enough. foreverblue
Personally from my point of view I think top 4 are cut and dried, Birmingham, Leicester and Oxford look like they will struggle. Kings Lynn could do a Peterborough with a strength in depth but unlikely, I would think it is between the other three but with Sheffield a lot depends on how Rowe goes, he could be a key rider, Hume will struggle and I doubt Flint will improve much so good top 5 but bottom end could be a let down so I expect a Ipswich v Belle Vue final. Wouldnt be the first rider to have a poor league season when they first join the GPs.

Manifesto
Now all teams have been announced… Ipswich, Sheffield, BV look strong. All heat leaders are strong riders especially on home tracks so for me the lower order riders will be the key. Thompson, Ellis, Zischke, Blodorn, Rowe, Flint.. if one of them can step up a gear or two the team will be really hard to beat. I fancy Brum for 4th spot. Think if Tobi finds his 2023 form he will inspire the rest of the team
ouch
We’re only discussing qualifiers here as has been shown with Belle Vue, it can all fall apart in the play offs due to injury. Ipswich. If Ai with a chequebook assembled a team. A soulless winning machine. Poole will be looking over their shoulder for when enough teams are gone and we are one big league. Sheffield. Currently reliant on the top end. They will forsake early season results with a view to strengthening for the business end in a Coventry/Wolves kind of way. Leicester. Will pick up surprise wins on the road as they are the best gate ‘n’ go team due to being loaded with Wolves. Kings Lynn. Decent league team. The jump from No4 to No1 is a big leap for Ben. Oxford. Seen teams like this before many times. It could go either was and even if poor there will be flashes of brilliance. Birmingham. See Oxford. A Tom Brennan short of a good team which is a real shame. Belle Vue. Business as usual again for The Aces. Zach for Ben sees us lose 1.5 points at home but due to our massive home advantage* we won’t feel it. Away, Zach is better using BSPL stats. Jake needs to put a shift in as Will will be chomping at the bit to take on the big boys at the NSS. As with the rest of this decade, only our injury jinx will stop another title. *copywrite BSF
Eagle77
Like most on here I reckon... injuries excepted... Ipswich, Belle Vue and Sheffield are destined for the play-offs... Kings Lynn, Leicester and Oxford to battle for the fourth play-off spot... At the moment my head says Kings Lynn... but I'd like to see Oxford take it... With both at full strength, Ipswich v Belle Vue could make a great final... favourites would have to be Ipswich although their apparent dislike of the NSS could be a real leveller. Bagpuss
IPSWICH - clearly the strongest team on paper and if not decimated by injuries this time should top the table comfortably. BELLE VUE another strong team assembled in M12 with potential lower down the order, would expect the Aces to meet the Witches in the final all things being equal SHEFFIELD clear vulnerabilities at reserve but their top four will win plenty of meetings especially at home KING'S LYNN always going to have a strong reserve and should be difficult to beat at the AFA but heats 13 and 15 look tough work on the road. Could be a tight scrap for 4th but I'm being biased and plumping for my own team 😁 LEICESTER very similar line up to last year but Howarth doesn't adequately replace Lawson for me and can Cook be relied upon across a whole season? BIRMINGHAM a vast improvement on last season's side, you just wonder whether 100% will be given by everyone team member every week. If it is they could crash the top four and be dark horses OXFORD Gusts is an exciting signing but they look 7th strongest to me without changes
