Something doesn't add up somewhere. There seems to be quite a lot of people not very subtly hinting at Ashton coming to Glasgow, but surely if he has, Oxford wouldn't be in the dark about it? And yet, they haven't said anything.

Still a couple of weeks until we find out for sure, I guess. I'll get some good popcorn stashed away in case it turns out it's true, because I can imagine it would cause a stooshie, which would at least make for some entertainment 😄

The “rumour” I heard was: Glasgow want Ashton, Ashton wants to go to Glasgow, Oxford say buy him then!  Could be a load of crap for all I know, but that’s my rumour 🤷‍♂️

If this had been mooted earlier in the season, I would have been over the moon about the prospect of him signing for Glasgow but having seen some of his performances at the end of the season and the discussions about him “shutting off” in tight situations, I’m not so sure. Can be untouchable when he gates though.

Yes I know…but in my opinion Ashton tends to streak ahead more than most when he gates….or has done when I’ve seen him.

There is no doubting his talent,he did let himself down a little at the end of season though.We've all seen plenty of young talent they have to progress it though.Majority turn into journeyman riders.

Apparently he had a big falling out with the Oxford management when he didn't take his place in the U.19 championships, the day after the Cheetahs v Pirates play off on the Saturday.

Gotta feel for Oxford here as didn't they pay over the odds for him in the first place? So prob wanted a few seasons out of him.
