If Oxford can't find a top rider to replace Nicholls, how about a solid team with strong reserves instead?

Sam Masters 9.15
Cameron Heeps 6.37
Jordan Jenkins 6.21
Dan Gilkes 5.08
Nathan Ablitt 4.91
Jacob Hook 4.19
Luke Killeen 3.85
Total 39.76

Think I’ve seen you make over a hundred teams and I think I’ve looked at them all the same, awful.

But how would you get Nicholls back in without major surgery to the team?

You wouldn't, this would be the plan if they couldn't find a part time top rider. For example I don't imagine they'd want to sign a 5 point rider, start 3 points below the limit & hope they have enough points available for Nicholls once he's fit.

It isn't easy making strong looking teams, especially with a low points limit. But I notice you never give alternative teams or ideas to strengthen a team I've put out, just keep telling me they're awful!

It's very easy to say a team looks bad without suggesting a better one, anyone could do that.

If you think my teams are so bad & must clearly think it's easy to pick a stronger one, why not show me how to do it, you could easily say "how about rider A&B instead of C&D etc.

Maybe try and convince Picko to ride on a short term deal until Scott is back? Quite hard to guess who will be at Oxford to be honest.

The bottom 3 riders there are all reserves. Hook will struggle in 1 to 5.

If that was the team & Killeen keeps improving, Hook wouldn't be at reserve for long.

I did have Fredriksen instead of Hook, who would do the job of a number 2 quite well in my opinion, but only fits with Nicholls instead of Pickering who I think would be the most likely rider to take a short term deal to replace Nicholls. Brennan instead of Pickering would also fit with Fredriksen. It's difficult to fit Masters, Jenkins and a strong enough rider to keep Scott's place till he's fit without having a weaker tail.

Dan Gilkes, Jonas Knudsen and Mitch McDiarmid.

I'd have never in a million guesses named Jonas or Mitch. It's nice to see so many new faces in this country next year, well done oxford.

I've just realised though... that leaves either Jenkins, Heeps, Gilkes or Knudsen as the number 5... and a lot of team surgery required if Scott comes back from injury.

A move away from our 2 big hitters approach. Can’t say I’ve seen much if anything of Knudsen and McDiarmid so don’t quite know where this leaves us. The only thing I will say is that Heeps is currently our second top scoring rider which, no offence meant to him, does concern me.

Jonas didn't really work out at Redcar at the beginning of last year at number 3 and number 2, he's a decent second string and good reserve but still young and I'm sure still improving.

Mitch is Australia's equivalent of Ashton Boughen (forgive the reference). He's got all the talent and potential in the world, he's very young but just hasn't had the time yet to prove he's consistently going to be successful. He's a very exciting signing for British speedway in general imo.

But as you say, Heeps as second highest scorer is concerning...
