I can't see a way JJ doesn't return - loves it here and said if it wasn't for the RS at Ipswich I certainly think he would have been in the Spires set up too.

I think Gilkes will be here based on his guesting at the end of the season and the things that were said, but we can't say that for sure. Likewise I'm confident Jody Scott will be #7.... my one thought is whether we'll actually see Scotty return. Nothing concrete yet and I'm concerned that the injury at the end of the year has made him think about retirement - that's my own suspicion and is based on nothing concrete.

Jenkins never wanted to be anywhere other than Ipswich in the top flight. That was his only focus and in the end, got the move he desperately wanted.

You're source for this information? I know JJ personally, and I'd love to know where you think you know this from (and so would he I'd imagine).

You’ve done this before, sorry but I don’t believe a word you say. I’m very comfortable with what I know regarding Jenkins. If you want to believe he’d rather be at Oxford, then that’s your prerogative, but you’d be wrong.

When riders sign on, there’s always a PR spin. But if he didn’t really want to be at Ipswich and would rather be elsewhere, that is the most OTT PR spin I’ve ever seen! Jenkins was wanted at Birmingham, but he refused to go there and he dug his heels in to get his move to Ipswich. Oxford also had a priority pick over Ipswich. Would Oxford seriously have picked Killeen over Jenkins if they had that choice? Not buying that one for a second. The fact is Jenkins wasn’t an option for Oxford either because he was going to Ipswich and only Ipswich.

Oh, and if anyone knows the true facts here, Arch Stanton surely does!  😂

I didn't say anything this time, other than ask for your source - which is somewhat lacking still? Care to elaborate?

If he's part of his biggest sponsor, maybe he can just ask him personally then? Then he'd know the truth as well, instead of posting inaccuracies on here. But hey ho, each to their own.

Ipswich had no right of retention on Jenkins because he wasn’t Ipswich’ rising star last year. Jenkins was back on the rising star list for 2025 and was available to Oxford before Ipswich due to the positions they finished in the table. So we have to believe that Oxford, having two Cheetahs riders available to them, chose a championship reserve on a championship average of 3.95, over their 3rd heatleader and clearly superior rider, on a 6.37 average? That’s not even slightly realistic come on. The fact is if Jenkins wanted to be at Spires next year then he’d be there as their rising star it’s as simple as that.

If Gilkes has been tapped up by Oxford, it surely means either Jenkins or Heeps won't be in the team next year. Can't see Jenkins having much trouble getting a spot elsewhere, but who would want Heeps? Big difference between his home and away average this season.

As hard as that might be to believe, that is exactly what happened. Ask Jordan, he'll confirm it. Sadly, it's hardly the weirdest thing Pete Shroeck has done.

Nobody is saying Jordan isn't happy, because he is. Just wasn't his first choice. But second choices can still be great.

Read my original post. Rising Star is the reason he didn't come here. If he was not a RS this year, I think it's almost certain he would have ended up at Oxford. But with him being RS, our highest hopes are with Luke Killeen, who definitely has the highest ceiling of AB/JJ/LK so we protected that asset, as he was wanted elsewhere.

JJ I'd imagine will stay, and Killeen is now a permanent fixture at Oxford which I'm delighted about. I genuinely feel he's got a higher ceiling than Boughen.

Where does he live then if his ceiling is higher. Must be a tall building

No idea why you think that, I would say Killeen has the least potential.

really?

id say jenkins is probably as good as hell be give or take a point or so whereas considering their ages and some performances last season both killeen & boughen potentially have a much higher ceiling if correctly nurtured

and i like jenkins

That's very realistic when the team manager is Peter Schroeck, this year they went from Kerr to Kemp to Killeen. So preferring Killeen to Jenkins is no surprise to me.
