I'm guessing they had a team lined up that came in under 38 and wanted to go with it,fortunately majority makes the decision.

You'd hope

Or maybe they are doing reverse psychology as others tend to vote against what Poole want. Poole are known for voting for highest limit possible in the past. I would have thought Plymouth, Berwick etc would be voting for 38.

Wrong, Plymouth definitely voted for 40.

If it's a 40.00 limit then you won't get many teams better than this in the Championship if any.

Two massive hitters with bags of experience plus 4 PREM reserves who've all got improvement left in them, No journeyman.

1. Masters

2. Boughen

3. Jenkins

4. Gilkes

5. Nicholls

6. Killeen

7. Scott

= 39.85

Have you included the team building reduction for British riders?

Is a 3 league Oxford operation viable if CL were to run 2H2A? As Oxford have already confirmed operating in all 3 leagues next year either it is viable or 1H1A is going to remain and a lot of clubs will be finishing in August again, despite most people saying that such a situation is ridiculous.

It would be an additional eight fixtures if the Championship were to go 2H2A. Just six more if they ditch the BSN Series. It's probably just about doable, but wouldn't leave much wiggle room for rain offs.

I can't imagine Oxford would willingly sign up for all three leagues and make a big announcement about it if a change to 1H1A was in doubt to be honest. It must have already been decided. Then again, this is speedway and stranger things have happened.

Berwick finished on August 10th and that was with a 3 and a 5 week break inbetween. So 2H 2A would have been dooable.

Berwick weren't running 3 leagues though

The other thing to point out though is Oxford had a successful season hence a lot more fixtures.

Yes.... and no. Had a lot more Championship fixtures (30 out of a possible max of 36 - 83%), but could have been worse in the Premiership if they had been in the KO Cup and made the playoffs (24 out of a possible max of 34 - 71%).

Basically Oxford raced in 64 (80%), but could have been 80 if they had been in all comps and reached the final of each.

They also staged the Championship Pairs and British Under-19 Championship, so they couldn't have been that stretched with the fixtures.
