Poole V Oxford. KO Cup Final. 16/17 October 2024

Might be so Steve Lyric2 - but with clubs finishing their official fixtures some time in  September.... they aren't going to have to accept a gust booking whether or not they "are in contract"..... whatever that means in the murky world of speedway.

But that is exactly the point. Fixtures aren't all finished at end September!! Never have been. The season has always officially been March-October.

Not a great weather forecast for Poole on Wednesday.  Always a risk with these early winter meetings.

As for the result , think Winnie Fooord won it last week by taking out 2 Oxford riders. Seems he has literally KO'd Killeen out of the KO Cup. 😞

So a hollow Poole victory is on the cards ...assuming they can find a dry Wednesday befor the end of October.

The league win was won only because riders were taken out, Poole had "lost" it with the first leg fact.

Now for the KO Cup Oxford riders are still ruled out thanks to Vinnie Foord & the pirates number "8" - a complete injustace!

Can the SCB insure that referees have regular visits to Specsavers PLEASE.

Yet you can't name any!

Luke  average is low  Luke has come on a bundle at the end of season and his scoring power has been like a fourth heatleader that’s why a guest won’t score what he would have done whoever it is. Gonna be an uninteresting final with Poole winning both legs this time around.

Most of the junior riders have either sold/ packed away their equipment for 2024, and taken up thier winter jobs. Doubt a  ride at Wimborne Road to be knocked off by Foord is a very attractive early winter fixture ?

Exactly

Current weather forecasts suggest Wednesday fixture off & Thursday fixture could go ahead. If Poole fixture is put back a week, there is a chance of Killeen being fit and being able to take part in one leg at least.

Your post sums up why so called Speedway fans will never be taken seriously.

There's no fact in any of your statement. Just smacks of anti Poole and mouthing off in general.

Better arrange it for Sunday at 4pm then! 🤪

Seriously, Sunday afternoon would be a good time, and Oxford fans can trundle down the A34 early for fish and chips at the quay before watching Pirates v Cheetahs at Wimborne Road. Perfect day bar the result.

Changes in riding order for Oxford too, with Boughen at 2 and Gilkes at 4.

We won't have Tom then if you do it Sunday.

Well Killeen riding doesn't make the job of winning the KO Cup any easier granted, but I have faith in the Pirates having the quality to win whatever, but they would need ride like they want it. Take a few risks and don't pay the top riders too much respect.

Think not Steve, British Masters grasstrack at Corfe Mullen on Sunday with Chris Harris which will attract many fans, both Poole & Oxford!!

I'm sure a lot of speedway fans will be heading to Wimborne on Sunday, there is a big grass track meeting, with a number of speedway riders, including Chris Harris, Drew Kemp, Edward Kennett, Alfie Bowtell and Jason Edwards
