Vinnie Foord waving to the crowd and getting the finger from the 4th bend. Paid 9 max tells these abusers all they need to know.   😛

2+1, 2+1, 2+1 , 0! I don’t think that is a paid maximum maybe after 3 heats but definitely not after a 0 from his fourth ride.

Oxford were up against it with the loss of Luke and Jody last week, but with Scott’s crash it was game over! Well done to Poole better team on the night!

But for the Oxford supporters of 4 young British lads to raise nearly £8000 for them was something quite incredible!

Where has this loss of confidence from Boughen come from? Took some good scalps in the Prem this season but now he's just backing off in every race.

He had a knock at the Championship league riders meeting, he had to lay the bike down or ride over Sam Masters whose chain/bike failed and spat him onto the track. Ashton damaged his knee, he pulled out of a few meetings and the ones he took part in were low scores. He then knocked the same knee a couple of weeks ago at Oxford hence withdrew from U19 championship. He is young and has only been racing for a couple of years and this is the first big knock/injury and it’s knocked his confidence a bit.

It’s a shame really there was one heat tonight where he was clearly quicker than the Poole duo but was shutting off going into the bends, whether this was a confidence issue or he didn’t trust Vinnie Foord I don’t know.

First of all hope Scott Nicholls injury isn’t too badly and he is back on a bike for the start of next season. A proper racer.

The meeting was over and done as soon as Nicholls crashed. Oxford could never cover for him. Heeps rode very well though to be honest. Gilkes gave it a go but the rest were abject. All too easy for Pirates. Next week a going through the motions to about heat 9/10.

Special mention for Vinnie Ford who was excellent and silenced those that abused him earlier on in the meeting. And for Tobias, who had a cracking meeting, the highlight beating Masters.

Poole are just awesome. They get stick but largely that's because they are simply better at everything. Picking riders. I said it at the start of the season they are tracking basically 4 championship heat leaders with a decent number 6. Fair bloody play.

They certainly know how to Team build and put on a professional performance wherever they ride. Credit to them.

Agreed. Poole provide the blueprint of how to run a successful Championship team. Not just the on track performances, but off track as well. It's an exceptionally well run club and they deserve the success.

The club just suffers from the fact their fans aren't particularly likeable (or at least some forum members aren't - some, not all - you know who you are) and that tarnishes the club's reputation slightly. But that's not Poole's fault.

So Oxford travel to Pool next Wednesday ( weather permitting) with more gusts than their own riders.

Congratulations to Pool…..they have defeated an Oxford select  four times.

Atrocious spelling. Pool for Poole

gusts for guests.

Get that dictionary out 😁

Injuries came at the wrong time (if there's ever a good time) for us. Poole, of course, a strong team... Thomsen has looked great both times recently down at Sandy Lane, though his actions in both legs of the final leave a sour taste in my mind. Ultimately I reckon a full strength Oxford side would have won one of the two finals.

Ultimately I'm not going to moan too much, at the start of this year I genuinely thought (after our pumping down at Poole) we were destined to not even make the playoffs. To finish 2nd and to make the GF and Cup Final was a great performance.
