OK, if the grown-ups can have this thread back, the interesting news from today is that Eastbourne are submitting an application to join the NDL next season, staging home matches at Iwade.

I do wonder what sort of response they'll get.

I thought teams weren’t allowed to do this anymore (run their team at another track). I’m sure there were plenty that had to stop running when this was introduced, Cradley, Weymouth etc

Unless the SCB changes its stance then it will not allow a team to race in the NDL on a track that also stages non SCB events (NORA in this case) - remember the SCB imposed a fine on Kent, suspended, and also threatened to take away their licence because Iwade were also staging NORA meetings.

The loophole that they caught Kent with previously is that Graham was listed as one of the promotors. If he was purely renting the venue out there shouldn't be an issue (but im sure the weasel will find one).

Does anyone know what banner the Eastbourne lakeside fixture was run under? If SCB then appears to be fine if NORA then it was full of SCB riders who clearly think its fine to ride.

The naming issue will probably be dropped now as it was only really in place to disband the MDL allowing the PJL to take over.....how did that work out?

Does that mean Scott Nicholls won't be allowed to ride for the Cheetahs this week?😉😇

ACU Board member Paul Hurry received no sanction last year, so I shouldn't worry too much on that account.

That's not entirely the case. That enabled them to say they would fine Kent, but they key issue quoted was an alleged insurance case (the Goodwood case) that meant the SCB said it could be held liable for any event held at Iwade, even if run under another Governing body.

Of course, that didn't stop it turning a blind eye at both Scunthorpe (for Flat Track events) and at Kings Lynn for the Dirt track events.

Scott Nicholls will be fine. The SCB has already conceded that it has no power to stop riders taking part in NORA events

Why are the Dugard’s so against speedway. Are they trying sell the land for Development.

Even if that is the case then surely let speedway run whilst the stadium is still operating? Stocks still run there so I honestly can’t see what the issue is, must be more to it that people don’t want to say publically?
