You'll never get planing permission without a traffic management plan - so ultimately it is. Edited Friday at 05:24 PM by arnieg
uk_martin
Make of this sign what you will, but to me it looks like you get 4 hours of free parking and that restrictions end after 8pm. In other words, as long as you arrive after 4pm, what's the problem? Yes, there are gates on the car park, and no they are never used. Anyone who'd been for a late-night KFC will be able to testify to that. Nandos is another place open to 10pm. The Gym at One Stop is open through the night from 8pm to 12am. So the car park has to stay open to allow for customers to access these businesses. Still, there's no commercial link-up any more so it won't be promoted. Cut off noses and spited faces spring to mind. 1

I’ve always parked on the road near the police station, is that not still an option?

The home fans will always find somewhere to park but clubs need to ensure there is suitable parking for the travelling fans. Brilliant response @stevebrum couldn't have put it any better myself.

Assume road parking is still an option, just not the "car park" as attached.

A representative of Buckingham Palace enquired if an on site parking space would be made available if Prince William were to attend the Lions match on Monday. The club’s response was ‘absolutely, it would be an honour’. I’ve since found out that William cannot now get on Monday and I’ve contacted the club requesting his parking space. Still waiting for a reply.

Why should speedway be different? The difference being is that Villa average around 42000 (I think?) And bham speedway approx 500.... say no more!

Laughable really. 😂 I think it's very different for Speedway & it's hardly not taking "personable responsibility for their lives" by wanting to park at or near the stadium & hoping the club would assist this. Fans have alternatives, go to another track, watch racing via stream, stay at home, all of these lose the club money. Even if fans are disappointed at not getting to a match, they still have the advantage of saving money. There is no advantage whatsoever for a club if fans drift away. IainB
I must say the parking "issue" really does make me think twice about going to Birmingham, I only went the once last year and had to pay £3 for the privilege of parking on the gypo car park. The One Stop was a perfect solution for me and most others in previous years, so it's a shame that the promotion couldn't come to some arrangement with them as it seems that some say that this is possibly still usable. Like I said in an earlier post I nearly parked on-street last time I went but saw a load of signs on lamp posts that I didn't recognise that looked like they could be parking restrictions so didn't chance it.  PS. Incidentally I'm going to Villa Park in June to see GnR, I've never been before so any advice on parking for that would be greatly appreciated, I would call Axl but he may put the phone down laughing 😉😂 Edited Monday at 10:08 AM by IainB
