I don't think Antti Vuolas has potential to improve on his 4.13 average and can see him or Jeppesen being replaced by Nick Morris when he regains his license.

Rew on the other hand may thrive and improve well, and Edwards ought to lord it over his counterparts, at least.

Musielak and Zagar to perform to their averages, so MJJ is for me the unpredictable ingredient.

The alleged statement by Grudziadz needs to be dealt with definitively by Birmingham asap. I recall about 10 years ago when Leicester began the season with both Lung and Mikkelsen but it later transpired both were only on pre-Sweden contracts

Once Tom was poached during last season it really put them on the back foot, making things very difficult. Whether this will be fully to blame for their potential demise is a debatable point. I’d rather compete against a stable and competitive Birmingham side but that’s just me looking at the bigger picture rather than the sadly adopted win at all cost approach.

Vuolas was always likely to be available having been dumped by Belle Vue but I am surprised he has ended up at Birmingham, like the previous season when Tom was picked up by Birmingham having been dumped by Belle Vue.

There's an Polish article doing the rounds on socials that the Grudziadz manager thinks MJJ's only signed until May over here.

Can a contract in England worry fans in Grudziądz? - I think not - Robert Kościecha, GKM coach, tells us. – As far as I know, the contract is signed only until the Swedish league starts in May. Then he will focus on the games in our country, in Sweden and his native Denmark - he adds.

Birmingham do have form for this... Adam Ellis

And Laurence pulled this trick at mildenhall too. Kaj laukkenen was signed on a short term contract.
I asked the question directly at the first press conference and Laurence told me and the room that wasn’t the case.
guess what happened

How long the deal is for is ultimately up to Birmingham Speedway and MJJ, others may want to know but don't have to be told

Is that really any way to build loyalty with the fans though? Especially if it's being reported elsewhere. Silence will probably be the order of the day.

Not just a Birmingham issue either.  British promoters have previous for going down the "ignore it and it'll go away" route when it comes to Chinese whispers.

But if and when he disappears they will get a facility up to his average for the first month and 75%after that

Oxford could get a rider to get them to the points limit and after he disappears continue with guests or sign a second string who will be a ever present but the team will be two points under the limit

it’s so open to abuse

I'd be very surprised if Vuolas doesn't increase his average. He's had less than half a season in the Prem, so would expect him do do better as he learns the tracks.

Although I don't expect a massive improvement as it's a strong league these days.

I'd expect MJJ to average more than Zagar. Firstly because MJJ was in excellent form last year, but also because Zagar only rode one meeting last season.

I think both will do well to hold their averages. I hope for Birmingham I’m wrong.

MJJ one of the most overrated riders in modern history. Never did much in the UK and never rode like a true heat leader.

The team on paper looks better than last season.

I do think that some of you are being a little unfair. Moaned for weeks about not signing the last two riders and when they do,moan about the 2 riders. Some are just looking for negatives and some just want to try and put the club down at every decision . Come on people, a wheel hasn't turned in anger yet, go to the track in March, see what's on offer and comeback here next October, make a complaint then.

It’s very close to being a team that will challenge for a play off spot and it probably would have if they’d managed to use all the points available for the last signing. I’d guess the uncertainty early on cost them options and left them behind the others in terms of planning. They’ve done very well considering, but it must be frustrating to be so close to an even stronger team that could challenge.

Yes I agree, I would expect improvement and he is a good signing and maybe being well under the points limit will help if they have problems later in the season, personally if I was a Birmingham fan I would prefer my team built to the limit.

What do we think the averages of the Brummies team will be for ‘25? If the regulations remain the same as ‘24 then I see it being as this:

1. Musielak - 8.21

2. Jeppessen - 4.5

3. Zagar - 7.2

4. Rew - 5.67

5. Jepsen Jensen - 7.5

6. Voulas - 4.13

7. Edwards - RS

Total - 37.21

If they had built to the limit jeppessen would have been at number 6 ..At 2 he may struggle  a bit ...
