You mean they want a chance of winning something

Partly - but Brennan also knows that riding under Doyle and Sayfutdinov can only be positive for his own development. It was a sensible move for both parties, because Louis prefers level headed, well prepared, and well presented individuals.

Its the glimmers of hope and expectation, which then fade that kills the enthusiasm.

One slight glimmer long term (may be 4-5 years)

Knighthead who have pumped tens of millions in to the dark side (Birmingham City) to develop 65 acres on the East Side including Wheels Site for a new 65000 seater stadium for 2030 have been announced as main bidders for a second Cricket 100 franchise to run out of Edgbaston.

They also have indoor arena plan at Wheels to attract Basketball (Birmingham had very successful Basketball team under Nick Nurse (now NBL) a few decades back playing out of Aston and other locations and they also want to use it for Ice Hockey. A few rumours they are sniffing round the once legendary Moseley Rugby Club - one of the top 4-5 in UK pre professional game.

They want all branded "Birmingham" Sports.

Tolley and Rogers really need to get their backsides in to some meetings with these guys as no reason surely why an Oval Raceway can't be part of the plans, it's a huge site and getting bigger as they acquire more and more and Council who are strapped for cash are selling off on the cheap with provision Knighthead clear out all the contaminated land - which will cost tens of millions.

That's a lot of plans for an underperforming hedge fund firm.

Justin Sedgmen averaged 6.18 (6.79 with bonus) in his 7 Birmingham matches this year. The fact he's available on 4.79 makes him a very useful signing, especially when you consider he could start at reserve (his above average was in the top 5).

But that potential gain for the team will be nullified of they can't build to the points limit.

Worth a go on that ave at 6...

What’s very interesting is that Birmingham cannot seem to retain riders which is unusual.  Not a single one wanted to return

Whilst Rew is a very promising rider with lots of potential he attained that average from being at reserve most of the season.
I do fear for Birmingham yet again this coming season

For all we know Palm-Toft & Sedgmen wanted to return but Birmingham may be looking for stronger replacements?

Don't think you can blame Birmingham for Lindgren, Lampart etc not wanting to race in GB. If the issue was specific to Birmingham, they would've joined another club.

No doubt the biggest loss is Brennan not wanting to return.

It’s their last season at Perry Barr. It couldn’t get much bleaker.

Sedgeman on 6.00?  He's never averaged that.  He'd be an Ok reserve but I doubt Jepperson would be much more and Rew should be riding at 2.  I couldn't make that not rhyme. Sorry.  Brummies need two riders that can be more than solid reliable middle order merchants at the very least... ideally they need one of those & a rider that can push Musielak for #1.

In all fairness, Sedgemen's average is only that high because he had one good meeting 15 paid 16 @ home to Ipswich in the Cup....he was considerably average in the other meetings....

Not a signing that will make B'ham a decent looking side!

Not quite my reading, I think with Brennan it's more that the move to Ipswich was more attractive, with the team they have he can learn from them.  If Ipswich wasn't available maybe he'd have stayed at Brum.  I don't know him and haven't asked him but there's other reasons why riders change clubs, not just that they don't want to be at one.
