If Brummies pulled out saying they couldn't build a competitive team once last year's star man went elsewhere, I wonder if Ipswich would get any flak or people would just say - that's sport!

Don't see why Ipswich should get flak.

If bham wanted to retain Brennan then they should've offered him the right deal,  with promise of building a decent side that offers some resistance !

Hope it's not another mickey mouse select!

If as has been said on here that this is Birmingham's last season then maybe they don't want to spend too much money.

I’d say it’s probably the security of Ipswich fully seeing the season out and knowing he’ll be paid on time every week. Absolutely no guarantee Birmingham will even see the season out… that surely came into brennans thoughts.

Mentioned it before but nobody seemed to know at the time, When is Nick Morris ban over?

Former Wolves rider and he's ridden for the Brummies in the Championship so he could be a possible option.

Would have thought even Brummies wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

I'm not so sure tbh.

Brummies might be in a position of desperation when it comes to signing riders and if he's allowed to return then Morris will probably be desperate to prove himself again and he'll have to grab any opportunity that's offered to him.

Would be better taking a chance on a British based rider in Morris rather than going down the Polish route again that could easily become another Pawlicki situation.

Given the concern  at the of the season regarding “cash flow” it cannot come as a surprise the riders aren’t queuing up to join Brummies unfortunately.

Realistically, who can Brum get?

They need to get two "top level" riders for one and five, with "good riders" as back up at two, three, and four..

Or six "good riders" with averages ranging from seven and a half to around six if no top level riders are available. (And that's real averages not made up ones).

GP/Euro Championship level for the top two..

Or, Polish top league SS's or 2nd tier top 15 riders, for the six spots if no top level riders..

Rabbit out of a hat time I feel...

Dudek? Madsen? Laguta? No GP's so maybe could be tempted?

Not going to be cheap, but are of the level they need, indeed, most of the team will need to be flown in I would think given pretty much all the "decent" UK based riders are signed up elsewhere..

A team full of UK Div 2 HL's will get hammered time and time and again...

Also, given how desperate they will be due to the lack of top level riders interested, the less negotiation room they have for deals...

Very average riders could get top level money...

They could get hammered but still be laying out "lots"..

Maybe the "seventh" team is vital simply so guests are always available?

Because, as everyone knows, you simply cannot run a Speedway League without guests,

It's impossible.....;)

I blame Belle Vue. If they hadn’t been so selfish and kept their top 3 heatleaders there would be more heatleaders available to help the clubs lower down..
