"We were planning on building a team around Tom Brennan" didn't exactly sound very promising, but having lost Brennan it's hard to see where they go next. I'm dreading the next press release of "We are building around the twin spearhead of Steve Worrall and Wiktor Lampart" If Brummies pulled out saying they couldn't build a competitive team once last year's star man went elsewhere, I wonder if Ipswich would get any flak or people would just say - that's sport!

They said they were building around Tom Brennan. Now they haven't even got Tom Brennan. How low can you go for a No.1 to build around?
TTT
I wish Birmingham all the best but Tolley's words in the PR are worrying. Using the words Hope and Hoping in regards to team building whilst saying he was going to build the team around Brennan suggests Birmingham are up the creek already. I read a Polish article recently that Matej is lowering his demands to try and get a place in the Ekstraliga 2 League. Willing to wave his signing on fee and stuff. Sagar retiring is confirmed on page 46 of the November 2nd edition of the speedway star.

I can't disagree, can't really blame Brennan or Ipswich for wanting to win things, which I why I think the limit should be 39, so the best riders get shared out amongst 7 teams not 6. GiveusaB
Tolley is sounding more like Rogers at every press release! Billy Smarts springs to mind... If they don't build a competitive side, then they shouldn't bother! Building a side around a good prospect/second string at best, is ridiculous and a pathetic violin moment!
