Lord Tolley gave a good insight during his interview at the speedway show on Saturday.  I didn't know that their stadium rent is paid monthly over 12 months and he said was £5.5k.  The other point of interest I noted was that they have budgeted for next season based on a crowd of 500, which should be easily achievable.

King’s Lynn need a 1000 to break even, and that’s Buster getting hammered for always having the cheapest team. Even if Apple or Google sponsored the Brummies I can’t see 500 being financially viable

No.

£24 admission is £20 + VAT.   So a 500 crowd at £20 is £10k.

On average there are 100 points in a meeting, so just £100 per point would wipe out that £10k, without even taking into account the riders' travel expenses and flights and tyres.

Then there's signing on fees, stadium rent, insurance, medical cover, meeting fees, referee fee, track preparation,  other staff costs, utilities, etc etc.

You wouldn't get far on the gate money of 500 people

Well Birmingham wouldn’t have to pay for the away team, unless you mean across both the home and away meetings?

Nonsense, most clubs Number One in the Premiership are on a guaranteed fee per meeting.

Wrong.

Guarantees aren't uncommon.

Some of the figures people make up and claim that No.1's get guaranteed are nonsense, but guarantees often happen at all levels.  A youngster stepping in at reserve may even ask to be guaranteed 3 points.

The Championship made a rule of no guarantees either last season, or the season before..

I am sure all rules were followed...;)
